fuck me, I'm lookin at the Canon RP real hard. I haven't been terribly thrilled with the aps-c crop sensor in the M50 I picked up in February. I shoot for a living and have been having a hard time justifying the sacrifice in image quality, even if just for a secondary travel/snapshot camera. I have my 5dIII I use for work with my 24-70mm f2.8L II and 100mm f2.8L macro. Would probably get the 40mm ef pancake and the adaptor until they come out with a proper pancake for the RF mount. Which would also make the RP a much better backup body option than the M50.

hi welcome back to Canon™ RP™ talk with your host me, Fizzle. after a few days of research, hours of obnoxious reviewer videos, and handling one for an hour at B&H I'm sold on this jawn as a snapshot/travel camera and would double as a backup body for my 5D kit should that ever shit the bed on a job. I shoot zero video so those shortcomings are irrelevant. Now I need some motherfuckers to pay me, including my gf who claimed my M50 immediately with a real sweetheart offer.

weird request, but does anyone have Apple Aperture.app v3.6? This was the final release and supposedly the only one that runs on 64bit OS. if you do, would love for you to PM me

edit: I guess since I'm on the topic, if anyone in here uses and enjoys something other than Lightroom I'd love to hear your thoughts

thinking of buying an xt2 or 3 for mostly shooting video but also stills. tempted to go the 35mm f2 instead of the 18-55 kit lens. like the idea of constraint/sharpness/portability. is this a dumb idea to go fixed lens for my first ?

Nah I bought the 23mm with my X-T30 instead of the kit lens and I don't regret it. I ended up buying the 18-135mm fairly soon after and I'm glad I went that route instead of the kit lens. Also, the long-awaited 16-80mm f4 is coming in September and I'd rather have that than the kit lens long-term.

Also, having now spent some time with both the X-T30 (same guts as the X-T3) and the X-Pro2 (same guts as the X-T2), I would definitely suggest going with the X-T3 (or X-T30) over the X-T2. The autofocus on the X-T30 is sooooo much better. I also feel like the sensor is a bit better at high ISOs and has better dynamic range, although I haven't done a rigorous comparison and I believe most reviewers called the new sensor a bit of a wash in terms of image quality. The fact remains that I've had an easier time getting better shots with the X-T30.

Even tho it still rocks I want to replace my Nikon D600 at some point. I have only 3 lenses at this point so I could sell them and switch to Fuji but I just don't know!

who's done flatbed med-format scanning? I have an epson perfection v600 or whatever that yielded horrendous results with 35mm but have heard good things for 120.

Thinking about playing around with my dad’s Pentax K1000 But all the lenses are a little worse for wear. They seem cheap though

It's better with 120

The 35 isn't worth the effort

I adore this camera. play around with it for sure. lenses should be fine unless they are scratched/fungused to oblivion.

anyone have good experience with a send-away 35mm scanning service? specifically at a reasonable price-point for selects from cut color negatives, not whole rolls

found this vintage camera from 1966 for $15 bucks
Image
just wanted to mess around with it for the weekend to see what it could do, but when i was buying film i was telling the guy about it and we started checking out the mechanics of it and it turns out the aperture sticks 50% of the time and i would need a new lens. :/ he had a 125 lens that looked pretty nice for $30 bucks, but i decided not to get it cause it was supposed to be a fun find not a fucking investment.

what should i do with it? should i resell it online as is? bite the big one and spend the extra 30 plus film plus development? use it as a kinda cool vintage decor item?

The most fun in film photography is processing; you can probably get a decent cheap enlarger somewhere
