That clip from the gow vid sounds brutal. I bet some project managers felt like gods when they pieced together that parallel workflow

What are some places that do the opposite? Like just get comfortable with an engine / toolset and have time to experiment and push the thing to the redline. Bethesda does something like that. Modders used to do that. Dota chess?

I've tried increasingly stupid Google searches but have turned up nothing. What's the upcoming game that has a sort of doom (1993) fps thing going on that has you playing a criminal going from space station to space station to pick up parts and resources and it has wacky weapons and tools and the idea is to plan a route and conserve ammo? I thought it had a nice dev pedigree (FTL?) but that's not it.

I'm feeling burnt out on games lately and that one is the only thing on the horizon I'm looking forward to

Really wish I could have preloaded Division 2 before it released tonight, I'm stuck in work until the actual release time and likely won't get to play it at all tonight :(

I was making a reference to an in-game joke.

I think the game is extremely funny.

I rarely play RPGs but this 'For The King' is pretty good. I actually stopped playing it cause I spent too much time on it (anyone ever have this problem?), but I'm going to get back to it with moderation.
I need to try that Hypnospace, it looks sick. There's an older game called Dropsy, which is by the same dev or something, which looks nice too.

as much as i think some people would enjoy for the king, i think i'm the only one who played it or at least posted about it

it's intuitive, decent fun, and probably a blast in co-op and/or treachery mode. my main gripe with it is i was playing a lot of other better card games/roguelikes/board games at the time and it ultimately boiled down to just rolling dice and then letting rng decide the outcomes of success/failure and that wasn't very compelling to me. i've eyed the new expansions and adventures though

yea it has a heavy reliance on RNGs, i'm not sure how I feel about that yet. My main criticism was that I'm more interested in exploring and taking my time with shit, but doing that would cause the chaos meter to build up and ultimately make me lose pretty fast. I found a setting which increased the chaos stuff to like every 25 turns instead of 10 or whatever, which mostly solved that issue.

Ymir looks insanely cool and seems like a simulation fan's dream but the level of micromanagement required makes me sweat that I think I would ultimately rather watch someone who knew what they were doing play instead of trying to bash my peabrain over it.

I hope it's early 2000s era UI doesn't scare people who would otherwise dig this off.

This will likely get shut down but

I need this in my life. It goes to actual gameplay footage eventually.

Also of course makes one angry about fucking EA. Because sure that's not the ideal SW game i want, but it's still better than the nothing w're getting.

Now if someone could remake Jedi Academy the same way....
