keyboard for a fighting game seemingly would be like using one of those hitbox controllers with not as an ideal layout i guess?

Nice. I used to have a couple with built in wires but they eventually failed too, possibly due to separate issues.

I still prefer the 360 controller to all others in regards to comfort

Well I guess if the DS4s wear out too, it's the same for both.

My 360 controller lasted like 6 years with zero issues ever.

this is def true... theres a lot distinct about it that i truly love and i will still probably buy the sequel day 1 because i still find the pure melee mechanics incredibly satisfying...ki pulse is fantastic. i can live with the drab environments and weak level design if they just gave you more interesting stuff to battle. the amount of mechanics seems baffling at first but you can really break the game pretty easily. the main issue is just yeah you get 100000 million mechanics to experiment with but 5 enemies that all fight in the exact same manner nor have very interesting encounter design over the course of a 60 hour+ game and that sort of nullifies a lot the magic of having all of this shit to experiment with.

i will play any pile of steaming dogshit if it has challenging melee combat, and opposing opinions of it being too hard and simultaneously having no room to use use its 5000 mechanics make me want to try it

yeah i think remnant is more like 'very loosely souls that happens to have shooting' and less 'shooting equivalent of souls'. i'm just trying to imagine what methodical weighty ranged combat looks like. you can bloat enemy hp but i don't think that's it

mine developed an intermittent break just ahead of the stress relief lol

Gears of War had a great sense of weight. Helped that every character is a 450 lb linebacker

the souls equivalent of shooting is arguably resident evil

and in any case the evil within is a challenging and wonderful followup to re4 and i genuinely think it's a masterpiece despite the same initial disappointment everyone else on earth seemed to experience going through the first two chapters. do you want a copy broodstar?

Goose game was cute, but way overhyped. It was a fun little puzzle game with zero replay value.

i guess dusk was a december 2018 release and was released on a bunch of platforms this year. i'd probably put that in at #5 if it counts. best 90s fps throwback i've ever played.
