has sony ever said if they have/do not have this bizarre no trading games policy that xbox one has implemented?

the no trade ins/used games will be fine assuming there's a marketplace like Steam constantly putting out great deals on older games
I have 0 faith in Microsoft doing that however

yeah no ones gonna give a shit if they can pick up games for steam prices but there's no way microsoft will do that.

it's not as good, but it's worth it. a new expansion is coming out soon, and it looks fairly promising.
I reduced the temples of Elam to naught; their gods and goddesses I scattered to the winds. The tombs of their ancient and recent kings I devastated, I exposed to the sun, and I carried away their bones toward the land of Ashur.

well i borrow games from my roommate/friends sometimes, so it sounds really god damn stupid to not be able to do that. i don't buy/sell games so i don't care that much. it's just a really bizarre concept to me.

you'll still be able to share games with their "family" sharing system. it's the one good faith gesture from microsoft since you could theoretically split the difference on all your game purchases among 10 of your friends. but the rest is still a self-interest guided and publisher pandering closed loop of unnecessary protective measures. especially if they're not selling their console at a loss this time around

Since the One is going to have so much software based DRM I have a feeling it'll all get hacked within a few months of launch making all of the restrictions in legit users seem ridiculous.
THIS IMPACT WILL CONTROL ALL MARGINS

I mean it's probably too late any way. I've owned both current xboxes but there's no way I'm buying this one.

used games/DRM bullshit aside, though, Sony just seem to have their shit together strategically much more than Microsoft's bizarre bid to make everyone crowd around a single holy television again

Yeah, the lack of a decent baseball game on XBox for oh the last 5+ years or so has really sucked.

i played halo thru 3 and stopped, but mostly because I realized shooters aren't really my thing.

perhaps the most remarkable fuckup microsoft has made with this whole fiasco is the marketing - as has been said many times and in many places, for all we know the ps4 could have exactly the same restrictions but they've been in control of their own narrative; they've made it clear they're all about the games, given indie games a decent amount of airtime (admittedly only one game thus far, but they sure as shit didn't bring jon blow along for his winning personality) and not gone on about services that are sod all use outside of north america. clearly the technical guys have made it a gaming box first and foremost, but the marketing has been all about shit you can do with a raspberry pi and a webcam for a tenth of the likely price.
no, core gamers are by no means the biggest market for this, but dear god are they useful at generating buzz and given the shellacking xbone is getting from much of the press, losing their support could be fatal. and yes, sony dropped the ball on the ps3 at launch and rallied back, but it had blu-ray as a pretty decent usp and arguably did nothing quite as damaging as the various drm shenanigans microsoft has come up with.
partly i want xbox one to fail because i want the market to demonstrate that people won't wear this shit so there's an element of wishful thinking here, but i would genuinely be surprised if it doesn't turn out to be a costly failure.
hi there how are you i will be your hexahedron for today
