i'm curious what you mean by this, unless you're talking about a plot (which i didn't think vermintide had?)

re-DLC vermintide, which is all i'm familiar with, certainly didn't come from WFRP "circa" any time; it came from the last-relevant-before-Age-of-Sigmar version of the miniatures game, which had iterated for the 30 years subsequent to WFRP

the dlc is called shadows over bogenhafen, i'm just giving context to that because i'm a huge fan of this release

k i was just wondering what exactly you meant

when you play tthat adventure do you re-skin it to fit the generic D&D universe or actually use the warhammer setting? and do you fuck with realm of chaos/slaves to darkness

i've read through it but never run nor played it largely for two reasons

1 - i loooove the muddy and bloody late-middle ages wfrp setting and the career system is super interesting to me but i feel like i'll never get a chance to play a game with it. it's close enough to d&d's fantasy and people already know how to play that so it's a hard sell
2 - my friends' and my schedules are too irregular to commit to long campaigns so it's mostly one- or two-shots with pregen characters for us

so i'll probably never get a chance to use it as intended. i'll almost definitely steal parts of it and convert it to my kind of d&d though. not familiar enough with warhammer to say anything about the last question

i'm gonna crosspost this to the tabletop thread to spare the vg heads

you got a 2GB or a 4GB? either way I'd say it's a solid jump up. the RX 570 is still considered a current card and gets reliable benches, but it's not a GTX 1080 if that's what you mean. I recently upgraded to an RX 580 and am happy with the bump from my R9 380:

yeah personally that sounds like a very negligible ass upgrade, basically just 1 gen behind, but everyone do them

i do know that on 1060-6gb and 580-8gb models, the extra vram makes a pretty big difference over the ones with half

there's a trainer for the re2 demo that gives you infinite time. loved my time with it last night. spending more time with it now. i had pretty tempered expectations about it given the lack of kamiya's involvement and my main exposure to capcom's recent output is them constantly fucking up their fighting game franchises but this really seems like everything i would want out of a new re game. pretty pumped for it now.

i wonder how long its going to be....

after replaying through the original last week i totally forgot how breezy it is even when doing the other scenarios and stuff. hope they find the right balance with making it longer than the original, but not absurdly so, and still being able to just blast right through it after you know what you're doing.

I'm going to finally try and unlock Hunk on the OG tonight which is something I never bothered with back in the day.

Even with the unlocked time limit you can finish the RE2 demo fairly quickly, it ends right when you get back to the main hall for the first time before Claire arrives. There's a few secrets you can fiddle with like the puzzles but other than that it's fairly linear. Someone finished it in 4 mins.

Think I’m going to just wait for the full RE2 since we are so close and that’s already a guaranteed day one purchase for me.

I made the mistake of eating up a bunch of my play time not realizing I could skip cut scenes. Still got through almost all of it. It satisfied my craving until the real thing drops.

Im joining up for this 9 month player event that starts tonight. it's going to be weird cutting myself off from basically all of the content in the game but I want to see what happens with the Dec involvement, and of course see the other side of the milky way.

elite is probably the best "forever game" on the market right now

yeah

does the re2 demo trainer work with a cleared demo yet or is that a lost cause?

in any case i think what excites me most about this remake is what they might do with plants 43 and the giant plant overgrowth in the airshaft. i guess on one hand you could say i've got a real personal thing for mutant plants so i'm excited by default, but in the broader context of RE2 as this wonderful intersection and reinvention of b-movie standbys these walking plants and the giant vine that probably birthed them make good fodder for doing new things with encounter design and presentation and all that good shit

there were a lot of warnings about it not working if you had already played through it already but it worked fine for me.

i managed to actually finish the demo in like 29 minutes this time lol. made me wonder why they bothered timing it at all. still can't wait for the finished product.

i wish the Catherine PC port was better. I can't even get to a point to save cuz the game crashes like every 10-20 minutes from the beginning.

So want to play this
