I thought that at the time, but when I relistened I was distracted and it didn’t hit as hard, so I need to give it another go

I just relistened to the Alpharetta tweezer and that’s one of the best jams from this summer I think

gotta revisit AC too now

I feel like they’re working through something with the combo jams. Obviously not a new thing by any means but the progress with them from 8/8 to last night makes me excited about what they could do with it this fall. Doesn’t always work but I’m glad they’re pushing it and not just relying on big ticket jams. Love the big ticket jams too tho obviously

The soul planet didn't do a lot for me when I listened the morning after, but I'm usually a little off & down before I have breakfast so I need to revisit it under better circumstances. The Atlantic City tweezer held up very well when I relistened a week or two after the show, I'll probably keep playing that one, the Deer Creek simple, and maybe a couple other jams from this tour. I've already listened to & greatly enjoyed the vast majority of the tour as it happened so I don't feel the need to go through it again anytime soon.

Listening to the Dick's chalkdust for the first time & it's really doing it for me, even though this one doesn't go anywhere super dramatic I love a long driving chalkdust jam. The show feels like they started set II with Carini & played Rise as the cooldown before the second big jam of the set.

I'm joking around, I have no opinion either way on the na na na's. But Dicks was a great version.

that said obvi im enjoying the 9/4 ER. cognitive dissonance is no big deal. more important to have a theory than to actively work to prove it

Hmmm you formed a theory about a song jamming less and then they jammed it more.. if you have any theories about how they're never going to put Quadrophonic Topplings into the regular song rotation we'd love to hear them

let me grab my quill

no but iirc the theory wasn't length based but formed around the opinion that na na na is a weaker launchpad than the solo. in that way it can kinda never be disproven
