Can anyone direct me to the entirety of the Baker's Dozen official audio? If somebody has it and can upload it to the dropbox or something, that would be great.

I've had some time to digest this set now, and I think the latter half starting with The Final Hurrah is pretty awesome. I look forward to hearing them take these for more of a ride at MSG and beyond.

Oof the whale in the later minutes of this 11/1/18 Hood. The first half of the jam is great, reminiscent of the Worcester 2010 plinko Hood. And I'm no knee-jerk whale hater, it has its place, just not in a Hood build/peak.

I didn’t feel that way about this particular jam but every once in a while it gets to me like that in a moment where no one else seems to notice, so I get ya

SF Carini is a top ten jam of the year, Alpharetta doesn't reach the same heights of ultra crunchy funk IMO. The Spirit Family from SF is also stellar.

Not the best written piece (Phish writing some subpar songs is not equally bad as racist rock attacks or a natural disaster, and for fuck's sake stop using "tard" in 2018), but I generally agree with his assessment of the music. I'm not gonna be frowning and crossing my arms (like someone does for No Men's) but I just don't see what everyone else sees in these songs.

To elaborate, it’s the smarmy, snarky, vaguely offensive, combative shit that I hate, the shitty internet phandom that I’d like dot net to be free of.. why is a charity site actively trolling phans with negativity? I’m not into the School of Phish POSITIVE ONLY kool aid, but what drives me nuts is that the dot net negative takes always attempt to stake their position as being OBJECTIVE and that anyone who disagrees with their assessment is just judging shows based on how much fun they had, which is total bullshit

Another example of the kind of garbage I totally hate (okay now I’m just being negative, but bear with me here)... I met a friend’s new boyfriend this weekend and I heard he was a Phish fan.. he even had the Fishman You Enjoy My Socks on when I met him!

He proceeded to say that he thinks everything since Superball (that’s right, NOT Magna) has been a cash grab. He unironically used the phrase cash grab or some variation about 10 times while talking to me. He stated how he thinks the EDM scene has invaded the Phish scene AND it’s music (bruh, 1999 called), hates Fuego and all the material since, and thinks they’re only still together to make money. He thinks they’ve been playing the same jam over and over again for the last 7 years and sound tired and uninspired. He also name dropped his vague connections to numerous people associated with the Phish scene... Honey, we live in Vermont... we all have a ton of connections with Phish Phamily & Phriends.. One of their family members is one of my yoga instructors.. it’s not a big deal and no one is impressed. (don’t follow up with me on this because, internet, privacy, etc.)

I didn’t think these walking Facebook comments actually existed in real life.. the people who completely base their identity around something they seemingly hate SO much and have such a godawful grasp of musically. He opined for the jammed out Reba’s of the old days that he misses... Bruh, you’re younger than me, and there’s never been a point at which Reba has consistently gone type 2, and the longest period of sustained type 2 hoods has been in the past 5 years, for comparison!!

I could keep going but... I’m done. Needless to say I do NOT approve of him dating my friend. In the words of Trey: “kiss my ass you fucking tool!”

Ugh, yeah, ok that guy and attitude stink, and I can see how that review is coming from an unpleasant jaded vet perspective. I don't understand keeping phandom central to your identity just to namedrop and bitch about how much they suck. It's not cheap to be into this band, even if you live in VT it's not like you can see them much without travelling and spending some cash.

I hope it's clear that I just happen to dislike this set of songs and nothing more - I don't think the band wrote them in bad faith or that they've lost it or something. Sometimes an album/book/etc speaks to me, sometimes it doesn't. I wouldn't be a lifelong Neil Young fan if I wrote artists off that quickly.

Also it's just way more fun to enjoy things than to hate them, so I hope I change my mind when I see them live.
