my first show and only pre-3.0 show was 6/19/04 and for a long time I had trouble comparing anything to that or asserting that the best show that I had seen was something other than that

nothing’s changed really, I just don’t think about it anymore... I feel like I’ve seen a few more that are in the same conversation, but I can’t remember what they are so, oh well!

Lemme suggest you find 45 minutes at your earliest convenience for this Forsyth jam with Ryley.

The first set smokes too, but the jammer out of First Ten Minutes is way, way, way the hell out on the astral plane.

The Long May They Run podcast is good in episode 4. Trey's explanations of some Baker's Dozen songs is amazing. Unbelievable that they had no idea what they were going to play for some of the donut themes until Trey had a whim in the cab on the way to MSG that day. I wonder if the band chose the donuts or if they had someone else do it so they could have more fun solving the puzzle of what to play.

Rough but funny that the Second City people could feel the visceral hatred of the whole 30,000 crowd immediately upon getting on stage.

I believe that is answered in the Federal Donuts episode of Behind the Scales, but I don't remember the answer.

Yeah my guess is that Jam and Boston Cream were band ideas and the rest outsourced to Federal. I’ll be doing no research

Aww I'm picturing you eating your purchased MSG donut while gazing jealously at the people eating free Phish donuts.

There were people at the bottom of the escalators handing them out as you came through the ticket scanners. I think they only had about 5,000 per show, which was all they could manage given the size of their shop and staff, so if you came in after that you might not even have seen them.

I got coconut, jam, and powder. All were delicious but the first donut was easily the best coconut based dessert/candy I've ever had.

Yeah I have one friend that got the random lottery ticket for each night so he's in but not with us. Still have to do some trading/selling to get him with us but we're in so I definitely can't complain
