I would honestly put that #1 of my 13 shows. They were on. Crowd didn't seem super into it, but I loved the small venue. We got a killer spot dead center on the floor and it was not stressful to hold it at all. Extra hyped for NYE now.

I love that band.

The fact that I live in the same city as the Barr bros and have seen exactly 1 Surprise Me Mr Davis show and 0 Slip shows in the last decade is infuriating!

Cypress podcast is really good. I love how unreliable everyone is as a narrator. Some people marvel at how they played all night and everybody stayed the whole time, nobody went back to camp, other people talk about the whole field being a total wasteland that gradually thinned out all night

ALRIGHT!

So, I scored a 12/30 and 12/28 in today’s rere!! They are both on the mysterious Madison Club level, which I’ve never been to, and am looking forward to exploring on the 30th. The 28th I believe I’ll be trading for a fucking 12/31, I’ll find out later tonight, and that will complete my set for all 4 nights!!

Most importantly, Guy, Pat will be my co-seatmate on the 28th and 29th (he’s just doing those two).. I believe I’ve seen more shows with this friend than I have with Guy, who’s probably number two on that list, and I’m stoked to hopefully be in the VHG/Althea section on the 29th!

Woo!

Franco - I agree to an extent... he didn’t have it for the second sets, but I loved all the first sets and the fun/goofy energy, and had my socks knocked off by some of the type 1 peaks

I haven’t listened back but I thought the type 2 at Prov2 and Nassau was much smoother than most of the other shows, that were pretty jumpy and impatient compared to last fall, which was my most ideal tour of 3.0 probably

I think what I liked the most was his strong set I phrasing in odd places (wedge verses for example). He was puncuating song verses really well. Almost too well like rehearsed.

The deep dives I’ve heard felt like he got stuck in those cycles. Using repetition to try and launch but not getting anywhere too far out in the process.

I kept hearing him be like “oh mike changed it up, I will too”... but half the time I was like, well it was because you played something cool, so don’t just abandon it

also, peed during Wedge :/

That is amazing. I can picture a drag queen doing a really saucy version of Blow at High Dough.

I sat in Madison Club for a Billy Joel show a couple months back and it was awesome. You walk by all the corporate suites to get to your seats, which have lots and lots of room in front and in between the individual seats, along with great plushy chairs, sight-lines and sound.

It's quite a different experience than the general seating areas, sorta similar to the Chase Bridges, except with nicer amenities.
