eagerly anticipating this one. i've been listening to Daylight Matters a lot. when i saw her in February her set was very
Reward was originally conceived as a spare piano record
and i'm glad the record is not going to be as maudlin as that show (i found Daylight Matters was very sad w/ just piano accompanying).

I am incredibly hyped for this album. I think Crab Day is going to grow in stature in the next few years.

it might be too good

it's so good

yeah, the sax & clarinet are awesome. stephen black is the man. really giving the songs a lot of life and depth and a sound that's unlike any of her other albums. not a fan of his sweet baboo stuff, but he's been putting in great work with a bunch of other bands for a while now & i love the group listening record.

loving the sound of the record in general.

the instrumentation on this new one reminds me more of post-punk inflected sounds of Erase Errata, on tracks like Mother's Mother's Magazines, than shauf vibes

man, i haven't thought about paste in a long time. they were always touting some uncle tupelo wannabe americana / alt-country act.
