Let's talk Aguachile Alley

I agree with everybody that going to distro is the big dangerous step. I understand if you don't want to be one or two taprooms only forever, but Council and Toolbox were both very good breweries, the problem was not quality. RIP
I had a Horus + Pure Project "Phoenix Shadows" imperial stout aged on brandy barrels and it was probably the best beer I have had this year. It was incredible.

Firestone Walkers hazy IPA is insanely good, hope they can or bottle it
So it can disappear on a shelf somewhere with a billion other beers stale-ing out
You do wonder what happens to all that stale beer. Guess it goes to like grocery outlet but they're still selling it at essentially msrp.

It’s so depressing to see sixers of Luponic get old on store shelves. It’s a great value when fresh and I always pick up a few when a new batch hits, but then 3 months later it’s still hanging around.

Agree vehemently
Saw a close-out sixer of it recently and it was batch 1 from more than a year ago
I'd love to know more about the logistics of inventory management regarding beer.

Can we all just agree to stop buying Maine Beer Co until they have better prices or a better format. I love their beer but the prices are insane.

At least MBCs beers are always good. Reason (ex-MBC brewer in Charlottesville) uses the same format and pricing for perfectly mediocre beers that are seemingly always over a month old by the time they hit shelves.

I agree with you on all that. I do occasionally buy MBC because they're so good but not often due to price.
Reason seems to be canning now. I think i paid $5 for a single 16oz can at craft beer cellar and it was decent but not quality of MBC

I only drink MBC on tap where sometimes it's a better deal than bottles? Strange really.

I have bought a million luponic 11s in the past month cos it actually showed up super fresh here and it's still tasting great. but yeah it seems like their stuff sits here too, which is crazy to me

Does anybody know what the Colonel Griffith is?
i asked greg (the trystero) and he said he didn't know, lol. said the normal this year is a natural guji. and there will be a keg only washed guji version for gjg day, which has also been postponed to 1/18

The Malted Milk Ball Imperial Stout they did with HPB was really good. Weird they put Ovaltine in there but it works

I wasn't the biggest fan of Age of Discovery. There seems to be an insanely short time frame where it's at a good temperature to drink. Too cold or too warm and it tastes off. On of the reasons I'm impatient for a new batch of GJG. I also want Hammered Satin to come back.

what would you say was the ideal temp? I liked that one, but i drank it on a hike where it was in the 40s out so it might just have stayed at the right temp.

I’m not sure what temp it was served at, but it started out pretty bitter then about halfway through I got the really nice malt taste from it, then as it continued to warm up it got kind of chalky, I assume from the ovaltine. I’m sure I’ll have it again soon so my opinions could change. I didn’t end up buying any cans though.

ooooh you are in for a treat. Also best/cheapest place to buy New Glarus is Woodman's Markets across the state - usually $8 for 6 packs.
I would also recommend Funk Factory in Madison for sours. Be on the look out for Brewing Projekt beers for NEIPAs.

Industrial Arts Wrench is really good. There are so many bad NEIPAs right now, so finding one that is actually refreshing and not just yeast slurry is a big deal to me.

I had the same experience with my crowler last night. Cold it was a bit like a lighter Abyss, but with more roast and less hops. A little warmer and it tasted really nice. I didn't let it get too warm, though.
Picked up both of the Taking Donations variants today, psyched for those.

My gf just got a job at Modern Times here in LA. Their employees get quite a lot of free beer every week. I am extremely pleased with this new development.
