Not bad, but hardly distinctive. Planning to cap the night with a Bourbon County Stout.

High Life jokes aside, this is kind of like the actual champagne of beers, is it not? Kind of bubbly and refreshing if I recall.

That's a pretty apt description. Probably would work better in the summer than on a snowy December night. But hey, I hadn't tried it before and I dig saisons.

That Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout is a favorite. Hate that they switched it to four-packs this year, though.

Just bought way too much beer on a Hudson run to get all the great brews that aren't available in MN. I'll post a pic of the haul as soon as I find my connector cord

quality ale, good stand by. the brewery is really cool too, you have to walk through the brewery itself to get to the tasting room and it's on the water, very fisherman-y. i was at a bar in milwaukee, bar louie, and they had this beer on tap for $2/pint during happy hour, i managed to get pretty drunk between 5 and 6

Just had a Kentucky Ale from a Winter Brew Mix my girlfriend's parents got me. I was kinda put off by the cheap label and the fact that it sponsors the World Equestrian Games, but it was good. Up next, Great Lakes Christmas Ale. That beer is the only reason to live in Cleveland.

thanks, i was wondering about that beer, there are so many beers i want to try i couldn't justify spending $10 on it when i saw it in the store.

i had blue moon on tap to drink for free at my house/work the last two winters and got so sick of it. now one of my bandmates' sisters works for coors so we get cases and cases of free 'moon' beers for free. i can never leave it.

that surly coffee bender is great! i tried it at gabf and really liked it, it was one of the few beers that stood out in my mind enough to remember my opinion on it. i need to find it in a store and pick some up. i really like coffee/espresso beers (that aren't imperial stouts) but usually they're not coffee-y enough, not the case with this one though

ah ya, ten fidy isn't bad, i take back my not liking imperial stouts comment. in my previously posted said job, where i had all the blue moon to drink, at the start of my shift around 4pm i'd sometimes walk around drinking this out of a coffee mug as i'd ldp (long-handled dust pan) my building.

strudels, do you mean the brooklyn chocolate stout is only in bars?

mike, im near denver. i have a good friend moving to chicago next week, i gotta ask him to send me some. sounds like you're right -

Where do you guys distribute your beer?
At the moment, we only sell our beer in the Twin Cities area, Duluth, MN area and Chicago. That is it. If you live somewhere else and want our beer, youre gonna have to come and get it.

I got the chocolate stout at my local in bum fuck Ohio, so I'm pretty sure it's not too hard to get. That said, there is actually a pretty good selection out here in bum fuck Ohio.

Man, I wish we could get Surly in cans here (Chicago). I know I should be happy with the kegs but dammit, I want it all.

DFH need to start distributing to MN already. Aren't they fairly large? I'm surprised that they don't distribute to all of the 48 contiguous states.

I didn't like the Chicory stout too much. Has Palo Santo always been year round or is this something new for 2010?

I don't think it's terrible, but it's certainly not something I want to sip on while hanging out by the pool.
