Over the holidays I had a lot of new/ different beer than I usually have access to.

An uncle in law runs a high end wine and beer store on Vancouver Island and provided me with some great brews.

A highlight was the Anchor Christmas Ale. Usually I don't like winter brews because the nutmeg/clove/cinammon overpower everything but this one was really really great.

Usually around the end of Jan you can find magnums of this for around $15. Great to buy and bust out the following holiday season.

Two Hearts Ale - someone in the last 'now drinking' thread mentioned it. Some tiny store had it. It's like eating flowers. Which is a thing I enjoy.

i guess...i mostly have tons of pint glasses from assorted pint nights/drunk bar outings so most of my drinkware has an inch or two of space when i pour a bottle into it.

A few months ago i found these tulip (sorta) glasses at the thrift store. set of four. fits a 365ml/ 12 oz beer wonderfully. Gives off a good nose for hoppy beers.

This is a picture of a bomber but note the glass.

Pretty excited about going to this next weekend: Winterfest Beer Festival in Louisville

I guess there are gonna be around 15 different brewers, including Founders, Bells, Harpoon, Stone, New Albanian Brewing Comapny, Bluegrass Brewing Company, Cumberland, Brownings, and Three Floyds, all of which I've enjoyed. I guess it's $30 for the ticket, food, music, beer, etc. I've never been to one of these things in the past, although I'd think that the concept is pretty simple: walk around, drink beer, enjoy. If its more complicated than that, I'd appreciate words of wisdom.

Just had a bottle of New Holland's Dragon's Milk. I was expecting a milk stout because of the name but got instead a very dark bourbon barrel-aged(-ish) Ale with a lot of vanilla going on. pretty good stuff, but for a dark beer in this climate I still prefer Founder's Breakfast Stout.

Ha, I was in a restaurant in Chicago a coupl'a months ago, and I'm looking at the beer list while the waiter is standing there, and I'm like, "Ah, I think I'll try this kolsch"and I guess he could tell I was just sort of picking something because the pressure was on, so he recommend the Dragon's Milk, and I said sure. Because I'd almost ordered the kolsch, I was expecting some kind of lighter pale ale, lol. It was delicious, though.
