Anybody going to the Horus event in Escondido tomorrow? The lineup is kind of impossibly good

fuk i would love some fresh nugget nectar. gonna seek some out this weekend.

ha, viola swamp, i happened to be at HPB last week and did some griffiths. i only had jamaica blue (fantastic) and colonel griffith. they were both ruling. coconut chili sold out before i got up but the bartender said he liked colonel better.

hpb is such a great spot/brewery. i didn't really have any other beers of note in LA (but wasn't really searching tbh)

yeah they're the best spot overall. my other destinations are in heart of downtown (modern times and mikkeller)

you had the two best griffiths, it'd be hard to put away a coconut chili solo tbh

We'll be in Southern California (LA and San Diego) next month and are planning on doing as much beer drinking as possible.

I don't pay attention to the beer scene anymore and I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts about any of these places? I basically compiled this list from the Beer Advocate forums.

Obviously we can't do all of these, so I was wondering if any are must dos, or must avoids.

Downtown LA
Mumford Brewing
Modern Times Dankness Dojo
Highland Park Brewing

Anaheim/Orange County
Bottle Logic
Bruery Terreux
Bruery
Noble Ale Works
Unsung
Green Cheek Beer Company
Chapman Crafted
Good Beer Company

Torrance
Monkish Brewing
Smog City
Yorkshire Square

Long Beach
Beachwood

San Pedro
Brouwerij West

Venice/Marina Del Rey
Firestone Walker

San Diego
Societe Brewing
Pure Project
AleSmith
Modern Times (if we don't go to LA location)

not a brewery, but i’d definitely recommend hitting up toronado in san diego. there’s a small modern times taproom nearby too, along with some other chill bars

I'll 3rd pizza port. I'll add that the Rip Current tap room in north park is also great. Colima's on university and texas is fantastic cheap mexican food.

Yeah just had Mind Haze this weekend. Hell of a deal at 8.99 for a sixer and tastes just as good as the local hazy 4 packs that are 3-4 bucks more.

I think I'm just not super into Fou Foune! I have a bottle somewhere, might open side by side.

Their hoppy stuff is good too. The Sauvin Brut is excellent.
