Oh yeah. It's amazing. But when Bitburger is $5.49 for a 4 pack of tallboys and Rothaus is $16 a sixer, I don't buy it as often as I'd like. German restaurant near me has it on tap usually and it is divine.

So the brewery 'ASLIN' did a tap takeover here a few weeks ago and it infuriated me how good it was because I don't have access to that nectar.

I know I’m late to the party, but Crooked Stave Von Pils is a certified crusher. Maybe more of a table beer than a pils, but it’s delicious either way.

So lucky their local for me. Been getting growlers from Kuhnhenn for years, usually the DRIPA (goat contender). Finally did some solo midweek day drinking there a few years back and fell in love with their APA. Might have to stop by the next time I'm in the area.

I can't find von pils anywhere, despite my locals being well stocked with other crooked stave beers

In particular it's their barleywines that the DDB guys go gaga for.

Sierra Nevada’s Hoppy Anniversary (40 years in the biz!) has hit the shelves, pretty decent.

The enhanced focus on pastry stouts and/or general lack of consistent quality control has really hurt their IPA's in the last year.

Yeah, I have only been to the new taproom once and it left a bad taste in my mouth in more ways than one. If you're going to charge $20/4 pack it better be consistent.

I've been drinking Glutenberg beers lately because they're gluten-free. Not bad at all.

If you want a straight forward gluten free beer, Estrella Daura lager is tough to beat. Gutenberg stuff is fine if you want other styles

SN 40th anni IPA is pretty solid. Need to drink more SN this year. Tired of rolling dice with local boys and their QC issues.

It's pretty good isnt it

Still mad that BFD never took off. Goddamn that was a good beer

I'm kind of amazed how craft beer seems kinda stalled around here, just a thousand stale labels all over the place and no breweries really doing anything very interesting anymore

what are the can't miss spots in portland oregon? i have only ever been to upright, apex, and belmont station. hazy and pastry and not my favorite styles, but i will probably check out great notion. but where else should i hit up? also coffee spot or food recommendations are welcome.

edit: staying right by the Alibi lounge if that helps narrow down any recs.
