they landed here a few months ago but initially were selling sixers of their standards for like $15? and they were all old as hell like 2-3 months old NO THANKS

finally found some fresh ones, and they were on sale for $12 so I pulled the trigger on a sixer of Super Soft and it is quite good

I get sloop juice bomb all the time. It’s pretty damn cheap here in jersey a six pack. Like $10.99. I kind of equate it to firestone six packs or whatever. I feel like it’s sneaky good/solid.

Five new Casa beers, including a collab with Humble Sea. I still can’t get over how good of a deal their free shipping is.

Did you filter it through a decanter or anything? How was it?

Nah, just like that on my birthday zoom sesh. The cork had a heavy fungus smell but that was not replicated in the beer at all. Reminded me of Doesjel 2006 but with basically no sediment. apple cider winey wood with lots of funk. never had carb but effervescent. incredible long lasting mouthfeel. totally surprised and blown away by this. if there is a theory that these are way fresher bottles, i'm all in. that cork tho...

Sippin on a Modern Times Mostra Tones. This is really good. Smells like straight German chocolate cake.

For any UK boarders the company I work for does nationwide delivery now https://store.beermoth.co.uk/

Some nice stuff on there at the moment. All the Saint Mars stuff is great. Anything by Track. 750ml bottles of Burning Sky Saison Provision taste amazing.

DM if you want a 10% off code

For any Boston-area people, St. Mars is run by the couple that used to run Pretty Things. Obviously haven’t been able to try it myself, but I bet their new stuff is great.

has anything changed with firestone? maybe it is just what they choose to send to AZ but i pretty much only ever see 805 and sometimes luponic here, even at small craft bottle shops and big selection stores like total wine. would love to be drinking some pivo in our hot weather but i never see it.

feels like it doesn't sell super well and i think i read something similar elsewhere which is too bad, they're arguably my favorite widely distro'd brewery in the US

we get a decent lineup from them but they sit on shelves for a long time.

Dude who worked at Jackie O’s is starting a barrel program called Private Press but I missed out on the membership because it sold out insanely quickly. Disappointment of the week.

tried to find some of that phase change y'all were talking about. struck out and ended up picking up some alpine nelson that was only ~3 weeks old. hadn't had nelson for years and am definitely pleased. if it was available fresh regularly i would definitely get it over a lot of other shelf beers.

wow i haven't thought about alpine in a long time. kind of figured ballast point killed off the brand.

nelson definitely held up better than the rest of the lineup after the sale; i remember getting a sixer of pure hoppiness when they started distroing to the east coast and it was nothing like the old brewpub stuff

Oh god, somebody needs to stop me from buying anymore beer.

This week I bought some Electric Living, Good Green, and Timbo from HPB (Electric Living is fantastic). They released a mix case that included it for shipping but no idea if it's still available.

Missed out on Fieldwork Pulp last week so I went ahead and bought a few 4-packs of Mo Pulp and Juice Crusher to get shipped to me.

And now a generous member of the Modern Times league offered to proxy a few stouts for me:
• Modem Tones BBA in Heaven Hill barrels
• MT Coffee Cake (blend of Monster's Park, Mega Devil's Teeth, Modem Tones, Infinity Gauntlet, and Dragon Mask, aged in various bourbon barrels, with coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, and dark brown sugar)

So I'll now have a few of those to pick up along with some Mostra Tones I still need to grab.

wow, i'm about 2 rebrands behind on green flash; i hardly recognize any of their lineup at this point. can't believe they're still making palate wrecker; that was a bad beer even when super bitter, overhopped IPAs were all the rage.
