I just helped my mother in law move from Houston to LA last week. Brought back a case of Live Oak Hefe and Pilz and man is it helping quarantine a breeze.

I feel this way every time I go to the grocery store and there are 4 packs of KBS just sitting in the cooler.

Cantillon seems like the only old school, hard-to-find beer brand that never really came back down to earth. I see so much Drie Fontinen and Tilquin on beer store shelves these days.

I assume that's because Cantillon production is so low? but 3F and Tilquin are just about as good imo.

I think there is a can shortage right now. I bought a single bottle just to bring back some good memories.

Drinking a double barrel stout from Central Waters right now. I think BA stouts will always be my go to, and this doesn’t disappoint.

If you can make it down to HpB Friday, there's gonna be some cool vintage bottles of GJG up for grabs. Also a cool variant on draft for crowler fills.

This happened to me and it blew my mind. Is there a reason why it's relatively expensive as compared to other brews?

Regardless, I love it and it's got such a nice roundness to it.

I dug into a crate of Nugslugger Premium Ale last night and it sent me for a ride, whoo boy! In other news, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is decent as hell

High ABV, large amount of hops, desirability.

i might be driving interstate 8 this weekend and was curious about getting some to-go beer from Alpine. i haven't paid any attention to green flash / alpine for a while but it sounds like green flash went in way too big a few years ago and now is pretty much insolvent? does anyone know if the alpine pub is still operating relatively independently of green flash? do the beers served there stand up to what they were ~8 years ago?

I think alpine is still operating, but I’m not sure if it’s still run by the same family/brewers.

I have not heard good things about the recent Alpine releases. They started a membership at the pub last year for discounts on all their releases and everybody who joined seemed extremely disappointed by it. Not even sure if they’re going to continue the club. Of course that could just be people disappointed by nostalgia.

Seems like a dumb question in retrospect. I'm just not used to seeing a Bell's brew go for that much.

I’ve been pretty excited about trying to purchase some Pliny the Younger tomorrow but I’m starting to talk myself out of it. $115 for a case that includes 4 bottles of PtY then mostly just boring lower tier Russian River beers. Have never tried Younger and this seems like the easiest chance but now I’m torn.

Can't you try it on tap somewhere? I waited in line once to have it on tap in Denver. It was good but I can't imagine doing anything like that again for beer.
