Yeah the conversation between Lee and the Guy about if she asked "do you want to get something to eat?" to him or the dog, felt so organic and real, like such an accurate representation of the stupid playful conversations that I have in real life with my friends. most other shows feel so stilted in comparison.

How is this such a good show, imagine if most shows were this thoughtful and real-to-life plotted. Any other show woulda made the Burg stuff so cheaply sentimental but this just worked in every single way
If this were any other show id be worried about the direction its going but they seem to do no wrong

i feel like...as this show goes on i've been having a much harder time with the episodes that are really cleanly "first lil story, second lil story." i haven't done a rewatch so i don't know if it's the show changing or if it's just me, but the stuff that actually follows The Guy has been really human and nuanced and consistently enjoyable for me while the short-story episodes feel a little too tidy or structured
the second episode's flasher story was maybe the best example of that, for me, in that there was something so 'modern short story' about the sequence of, like, exposition, rising action, yadda yadda, ending with a Wry Sad Punchline, but it was also very good and got at something in a way that i only really find in this show right now

yeah this is very where I'm at with this show. it can feel at times they have bigger or smaller ideas and the way they get organized in an ep can feel disparate or awkward in ways that work against the usual energies of the show (which not always complacent or easy either.) still, like IF said, it's a shower that delivers, most of the time, on something i don't find elsewhere. and damn, the casting is pretty untouchable.
thank GOD for this cbd scrunchy
