Transit people taking bets on which station is going to be the most irredeemably fucked up during the shutdown between Broadway Junction and Court Square. I use Broadway Junction far more often and I'm familiar with its design failures more, so it gets my vote but Court Square is gonna be awful too. I hate to say it but someone is probably going to die falling in front of a train at Marcy.

yeah I definitely think broadway junction is going to be the worst. the influx of people using those steep stairwells is going to be a nightmare bottleneck

at least court square has the moving walkways

the moving walkways are gone!

the E/M platforms already get dangerously crowded pretty quickly, and with exits only at either end it's a nightmare when people get off! more traffic there will be bad but i don't think it's the same kind of mess as broadway junction.

Yeah I heard they were taking out the walkways, I didn't realise they'd already done it though. Probably for the best.

its better without the walkways and they got them out of there surprisingly fast, i thought it would be much worse. but now people dont know which side to walk on in that tunnel anymore, so the flow of foot traffic is pretty chaotic. hopefully it sorts itself out.

the number of people who don't know to ALWAYS stay to the RIGHT is one of the most maddening aspects of commuting during rush hour

the mta should post signs tbh

Yeah get some of those floor arrows they love sticking on the trains and just put them all over the walkway.

I took the Greenpoint ferry to 34th for my commute today. I brought my bike and my commute was 15 minutes shorter- why was I not doing this the whole time? (Answer: I finish work after the ferries stop running)

L shutdown gonna be ok for me I hope

Court Street sucked total ass yesterday but I don't know if that's normal

At least in April (and every fucking weekend in October) it won't be 105° down there

I'm actually pretty sure I'm just going to jog through rain and slush to work.

If I get my average mile down it will just take 30 minutes
