you get out and you're right there on bedford... it's nuts!

(also they seem to have repurposed the stairs from the old exit onto n 7th, which is also nuts but i guess i appreciate the thriftiness)

i got an email from the company that did the free OCTFEST tickets last year, offering 50% off this year with a promo code SURKUS50

i'll prolly go Sunday for YLT, hop along, niles rodgers/chic, and lots of beers. Not bad for $37.50, but it's relatively easy for me to get to Governor's Island

fuck dudes, i'm in need of a pool. manhattan.

since its raining outside today though, would any of those indoor hotel pools accept passes to non-guests? looks like the grace doesn't allow walk-ins anymore.

for sure, i think the forecast is thunderstorms to boot, so likely a no go for outdoor pools today.

We’re thinkimg about visiting nyc (first time) in October as there are cheap flights to EWR. This is in New Jersey right? A transfer wouldn’t be too long-winded would it? We’d have roughly 5 days there. I just read that Williamsburg is a good cheaper base to explore from but that seems wrong in my ignorant mind. Sorry to ask tourism questions itt I know you guys are probably sick of visitors and these questions have probably been answered 100 times.

you can take a train from EWR to Penn Station. it's like 30-50 minutes i think, depending on how long you have to wait, and like $15

I'd be surprised if Williamsburg is cheap, unless you're looking at rooms in apartments on airbnb's. may be totally wrong tho.
