Westminster Dog Show ends tonight at MSG. It's a cool thing to experience if you like hanging out with a bunch of good doggos and TodayTix has general admission tickets for $32.50 all in.

this fuckin thing has been in previews for so damn long, for someone who tunes out almost everything before seeing a performance this has been kinda tricky, but really all i know is that there is no intermission, the pace should be pretty hectic throughout, it should be really really good, there may be protesters outside the theater?? (dunno if that ended up being a thing), that it seems to be drawing acclaim across the spectrum of theatergoers, and that's about it. i'm obviously happy with this that i'm going to end up catching it toward the tail end of previews since it sounds like it's going to be an absolute wrecking ball and i'm sure it took a lot of work to get it all down. I am definitely fuckin rear mezzanine though, like back back.

although when i saw hamlet on saturday, i was in row O seat 11, which was the leftest seat in the last row they were seating. right before the play started, one of the attendants told all of us in the row to move up to the middle. the middle ended up being one seat short and i was the odd one out and so she was like there's a single seat in the front row if you want it? and i was like yeah absolutely, which ended up being fucking amazing luck, again paying $20 for the ticket. so who the heck knows!
Nice day if it doesn't rain.

It has fallen into despair but I still like it. They should do a Robertas pop up there. Any person with a bit of passion could make it super cool.

i thought i was going for an impromptu wiki show, but it ended up just being wiki and his friends getting drunk and hanging out, which was also fine because it was free. i loitered around for a bit and then split, not before having a convo with one of the booker/manager guys, who was on a bit of acid. nice guy.

Someone tried to break into my building by going through the window into a bedroom on the 2nd floor. They apparently had a chair underneath the fire escape ladder in the backyard. The amount of fence climbing you would have to do to get there from the front is impressive.

It was fucked up to be getting high when the buzzer rings the voice that comes through just says “police” lol

My first thought was it’s the landlord trying to scare only rich ppl in the building off so they can gut renovate the place.

My landlord laughed when my neighbor called about this jfc

I guess the story is one of the girls heard something and went to see what it was. It was 2 men trying to open her bedroom window. So they bolt outside and use someone’s phone to call the police from the street. We only live in a 4 story and my roommate heard people talking yesterday on our fire escape. I guess someone cased the building. I don't know why anyone would try to break in at 10:30 when people are both at home and awake outside of really gross stuff.

I guess it’s nice I’m being kicked out of this dump!

When someone calls the cops like 10 of them show up. It's crazy.

I went once and liked it well enough, would have been happy to have it available for shows in the future. It'd be nice to have another non-Wburg spot to go for shows

yeah years ago my spot got broken into and robbed when i was at work and my roommate was outta town and the cops said it was the fire escape but we were on the 8th floor and it was january so i assumed it was the construction workers on the floor above us who had cased our place and waited for me to leave cause who would go up 8 flights on a fire escape in 10 degree weather on a whim. what was weird was a few weeks later they tried coming back at around 10pm on a sunday which like you said is scary af cause most ppl are home then so why are they trying to break in then?? luckily we were able to break the lease early cause after having that happen it was hard to feel safe at home. also when the cops came they victim-blamed like crazy about us not having cameras or special locks etc.

after a year, i found myself at au cheval for dinner tonight with a buddy moving out of town. i was interested in the place when they opened...then completely lost interest. but spotted a 730 reservation and went.

was expecting to hate it...but its fucking great. great burger...as long as you dont over-order, for what it is...its excellent.

What about Brooklyn Steel? Why does baby's alright have no good bands anymore? Is pianos still good or no?

Brooklyn Steel bookings are so bad: silversun pick ups, lupe fiasco?? maybe Im too old now. I need landspeed to recommend me some shows otherwise I will stay home. $42 for ariel pink at market hotel is nuts.

It’s not market hotel though, Ariel pink is on some cash grab trip these days, his LPR show is also $45.

William Basinski & Ariel Pink both on cash grabs now.

Getting old sucks. I don't know anything cool anymore. I don't even know any relevant bands or venues anymore.
