It's the first big difficulty spike in the game if you go dirtmouth -> forgotten crossroads - > greenpath -> fungal wastes and the first couple times it feels impossible and then something just clicks and it's one of the most fun experiences I've ever had in a video game. It was like a Neo moment.
There's a harder version of them (Sisters of Battle) in the pantheons, but I haven't reached it yet because I'm stuck on the third pantheon right now. Took a break and went back and beat the third coliseum trial and did the delicate flower mission, but I think I'm gonna go back now.

this is the greatest damn controller ever for 2d games and old school fighting games. I've gotten so much mileage out of it on switch and emulators.

I literally just realized after nearly 70 hours of play time that you can "overcharm" in Hollow Knight.

You take double damage, so I'm not sure it's a very viable strategy other than maybe a few specific instances.

Equip yourself until there's only one charm slot left. Then try to use a charm that takes up more than one slot five times and it will say OVERCHARMED and you can use that last charm even though it takes up more slots than you have.
Obviously it's best to save whichever charm uses the most slots for last because you can only do this with one charm.
The downside is that you take double damage, but it'd be great for like the delicate flower quest or something else where you wouldn't want to be taking any damage anyway.

Got my ass beat on the hornet fight in green path over twenty times yesterday before I beat her. Do I need to grind geo for the charm salesman or just get stuff as i get more?

I wouldn't worry about grinding geo. It comes pretty easily just by playing. But get the map and quill and the compass ASAP if you don't have them. I've played 71 hours and still get lost getting around sometimes and that solves that problem. Gathering swarm is great to get right away as well to make sure you get every piece of geo possible.

Hornet in greenpath is a very early boss so it shouldn't take much in terms of upgrades. Have you been downslashing/pogo attacking in combination with basic slashing?

I'd be more worried about losing all your geo because you get killed again before you get your shade back, so while I don't think you need to grind almost ever, I do think you should spend it as soon as you have the money if there's something you want.

Lost over 10K in the Hive once. Had a mini-meltdown tbh.
But later on you can make it back quickly. To turn those fragile charms to unbreakable ones it takes 36K combined and I got all of that pretty fast between the collectibles I sold, the amount I had accumulated just from playing past when there was anything to buy and doing a few coliseum runs.

Yeah you can treat those trinkets and unredeemed grub rewards as a kind of bank as well that you can cash in when you need to spend geo

I was using it before I got sick and then haven't gone back in like a month but I mean to. It really whoops your ass and I was definitely losing weight and I even though it was fun and in my 30+ years of being alive I've never though exercising was fun

My gf loves Ring Fit and says it's the most fun she's ever had working out. I keep saying I'm gonna start it, but I've only done two workouts ever with it. They were fun and seemed like they'd be effective. Recommend.
