I'll probably never play SSB again because I used to dorm with a high ranking competitive player so I associate that game 100% with getting my ass handed to me in unpleasant fashion

Damn I'm finally gonna play Va-11 Hall-A in May:

It looked so cool when it came out on PC but they said it was going to come out for Vita but by the time it did it was announced for Switch so I wanted :rixx:

this is probably the only game out where i'll get destroyed (not uncommon), but then i'll get angry because i feel like i lost to something dumb.

there are times when i lose and am in a respectful awe of how well they played, but usually it's just feeling like the other person is actively abusing something that should have been patched pre-release

ssb is insanely well balanced, epecially considering there are 70+ characters imo. i couldnt disagree with you more

unless that feeling is brought on by nintendos terrible netcode. then i agree

i hope the p5 thing is just opening up the door for atlus to bring over some of the older titles but that probably wont happen because they suck

p5 rocks and im happy its gonna be on switch but I have like no desire to replay/double dip on the game any time soon

I've never played a persona game

actually this is probably really shameful to admit but I don't think I've ever played any jrpg through. unless you count super mario rpg. I'm working on valkyria chronicles now but I guess that is kind of a weird hybrid/anomaly as well

since they just put them on switch you should get ff7 or 9 stat!

PS1 was my console but for some reason I never even tried FFVII (or Metal Gear Solid for that matter). This is only weird to me because I remember buying Xenogears for some reason (I know people love that game but I have no recollection of why I wanted to buy it, and of course I probably played like 3 hours of it)

i would kill for a xenogears switch port tbh

you can speed up and even turn off random encounters on the ff ports if you want which is nice...i do kinda hate how they look w/ the up res'd character models/backgrounds that just look bizarre to me but the games are still good

i agree it's well balanced. my experience in ranked was a lot of "this opponent will do the same thing over and over all game (usually a 2-3 move combo)." so i started getting upset about certain moves that seemed much more difficult to avoid, counter, whatever.

input drops from lag usually started the frustration, but ending games with "this guy has done the exact same thing 20 times to me and i still can't deal with it" became the upsetting thing.

i don't mean to say there's not a lot of depth and potential for high level play. just where i was playing at, that's what drove me away for a bit

yeah, i think certain moves are especially abusable online, which can be not fun.

ya thrasher you should totally do this as long as you don’t have hangups on outdated graphics. i think either would be a good intro at a budget price

yeah I've been thinking about it, I've already got so many games I've bought that I need to get to.

I don't care too much about outdated graphics but for general presentation I do like things that are a little less outdated... I guess usually when japanese games catch my eye it's because they have a sorta stylish anime-esque vibe, so 16bit games and games without much voice acting don't really grab me that way. FFX looks more along those lines but I don't think I wanna pay $50 for it

I mentioned it awhile back but I bought xenoblade chronicles for 3ds and was feeling it very much but then I was silly and impulse bought a switch like 3 weeks after I was gifted the 3ds, and something in my broken brain makes it so that I can no longer will myself to fire up the 3ds and finish it now that I have a newer nicer system

What if at the end of this Reggis Fils-Aime turns around Colombo style and says "Oh, one more thing" and they drop Mother 3

If Earthbound is up your alley Mother 3 is an amazing game. It's a little darker than Earthbound but basically more of that perfection im biased o

Spoilers for the beginning few hours:
It starts off with you playing the dad of the main character and going on a drunken rampage after finding out about the death of your wife and then everybody is ashamed of youToggle Spoiler

He isn't selling them at the moment, but maybe if you emailed him this is who I bought mine from:

https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/16bitGames ... y=mother+3

It is perfect AND the save is on the chip and not a battery so it'll save forever.

Not sure if I saw it through the board but I read some article about how Square apparently lost all of the gold masters for PS1 era games which is why they can't do proper HD remasters of the classics and the FF games look kind of bad uprezed.
