Another project of the guy(s?) behind Ancient Morass, Himelvaruwe and mighty Kaffaljidhma. Wall of sound droning shoegaze blackness

This new behemoth...kind of kicks ass?

I've never been super into them but they're headlining a show I'm going to in a while so I listened to this

Reminds me a little of that awesome Rotting Christ album from a few years back

Conjured in the backwoods of Pennsylvania, Death Metal newcomers OUTER HEAVEN spew forth their long-awaited debut album Realms of Eternal Decay. Across 10 tracks and 30+ minutes of grotesque, groove-laden old-school Death Metal, OUTER HEAVEN immediately raise the bar for the new generation of extreme bands. Realms of Eternal Decay was produced by Kevin Bernsten (Skeletonwitch, Full of Hell, Integrity) at Developing Nations Studios mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Cavalera Conspiracy, Inquisition, Pissgrave). Features sickening cover artwork by Matthew Stikker (Power Trip).

Great shit!

Dutch black metal scene rules, plenty of great bands emerged there in recent years. Check out the Turia track, starts at 14:49

A cool essay on Convulsing from Invisible Oranges. Like records by Ulcerate or Blood Incantation earlier, Brendan Sloan's album is gonna appear in many 2018 summaries, it's too good to be pigenholed as just "metal"
