All three of the new Voivod songs I've heard are good, but this one, man. That riff rules.

Yeah, Voivod seriously kicks ass. Even their weaker, later records are better than most of metal out there.

And a new Deathammer, yesssss! I thought they split up or something

I've been listening to a lot of Voivod lately, too. I finally bought Negatron and Phobos the other day after randomly finding them. I had Negatron in my work truck when I stopped in to the office Friday. When I started the truck, the CD player started blasting before I had a chance to pause it and I heard "Turn it back on, Shane!" from my co-workers standing in the garage behind me :D

That vovoid riff is filthy. Just commuted to Manhattan to fix a sound connection in one of the photography school classrooms and I used that vovoid track on repeat

((Stuffed is loved by old and young because this is where the puddings get sent in. Criss-cross paving and those tinkly hanging bells make ((Stuffed a very homely access to Hades. Full marks.

I'm not crazy about Negatron, but Phobos rips, even if they do sound like a totally different band on those records.

I like them both fine. I avoided them up until earlier this year because they don't have Snake on them. Which was silly of me, since Away has always been the guiding force behind the themes and aesthetic of the band.

new conan is real good. i liked this quote from the interview on invisible oranges:

The live tracks were actually the label’s idea to be honest. We thought the album was fine as it was but our contract requires that we write a certain amount of material per release and we fucked up.

I listened to The Wake two or three times through while traveling for work today and I have to say, it's definitely Chewy and Away's album.

It'll make my year-end list for sure, but I love Target Earth. I'd probably rank it just behind that. The Wake is definitely stronger than S/T, Katorz, and Infini imo.
