this is as good a time as any to make the very obvious statement that the drumming on the woods is so fucking good

so without Janet, they'll become a St Vincent cover band and painfully fade away over the next year... bad way to end their legacy.

That seems like a pretty heavy read of the situation

Glad I didn't buy tickets for this tour. Saw them on the last few tours before they went on hiatus. Them without Janet is a completely different entity and not one that I would want to see live. I'll give the new album a chance, but it is pretty disheartening.

I haven’t listened to S-K in ages, but I will say that I was not a fan of her drumming on Real Emotional Trash. Too cymbal-heavy and plodding for my tastes.

Man, I wish Quasi still made cool albums. They used to be my shit.

I saw them like 4 times and was always up front with the die hards - it was a dang celebration each time. Definitely different than the Woods tour (only time I had seen them prior), which was a different type of power. No Cities tour felt like a victory lap vibe with purpose.

I already have a ticket for an upcoming date.

Sleater-Kinney best band ever.

(St Vincent kinda sucks imo)

can the record and cancel the tour

the album so bad it made janet quit

this is a real good write up. probably won't like the record based on the singles, but still love and respect the band
