this is where I live, and I'm safe at the moment about 1 mile away from the southern edge of the fire, but the wind here is outrageous - 35-50mph, at points last night it was 80mph. The news just said it was 0% contained and is pretty much marching inexorably towards the ocean. The houses in the nice neighborhoods up on the hill behind downtown + anything in a direct line from Santa Paula (a few miles directly to the east) seem to have been hit the hardest so far here in Ventura

The power has been out for a large part of the county too, ours was out for about 12 hours and my phone died, we had no internet and no TV last night and it wasn't possible to get any info. Unfortunately, I'm sure plenty of people are still in this situation

Ok who knows what the secret show venue in Silver Lake is called, I keep seeing it on my Instagram Stories at least 10 dif shows they're always packed. It's located on a hillside has a bunch of bench type seats on a hill my friend said it might be on Westerly Terrace its behind a house down some stairs. How do I get put on the list to get show invites? My friend said he's only been there for his friends bands performing there.

They had some guy named Louis Cole performing there tonight Sun Dec 10th at 8pm.

Hey my best friend is moving to LA at the start of January if anyone knows of rooms available. She's gonna be working full time downtown, so somewhere not far from there would suit. She lurks on here as scanners, is the best person ever, totally easy to live with, plays punk music, hikes a lot let me (or her if she ever posts in here) know of anything you hear of!

does anyone have experience getting your initial deposit back from LADWP? i'm getting the vague customer service experience. i'm sure it'll work out but i'm always on a tight budget and it would be nice to know what to expect for budgeting.

basically, i emailed them asking when it would be time to request my deposit back. they told me at or after dec. 1. so i emailed them again last week and they just ignored that one. i called today and got someone who said i can get it back asap, but because i didn't want to stop my service, i could only get the refund applied as credit to my account. then she transferred me to the credit department, who said i could get either a refund check or account credit. i asked her when i could expect mail or any kind of response and she said "you won't - wait a few days" lol.
