Awesome, thanks

I did not forget about this, I merely forgot temporarily

So this might sound complicated because of the multiple steps but I promise it's pretty quick and easy (thanks in part to the small amounts of things you're cooking)

Bring 1/2 cup water and 1/2 tsp of agar powder to a boil, pull off the heat and set aside

Cook 150g of sugar, 2 tb water and 2 tb orange juice to ~320 and pour evenly into four ramekins/little bowls/whatever you want

Finally mix a 16oz can of coconut milk, 60g sugar, a pinch of salt, 5g vanilla (or a tiny bit of vanilla bean scraping) in a small pot; break/mash up the agar gel you made earlier and add it in. Now just bring to a boil while whisking constantly to make sure the agar is melting completely into the coconut. If it boils before that happens, just lower the heat until the gel has dissolved. Pour into the ramekins with your caramel and refrigerate for at least half an hour or so.

I went to this because a friend had purchased tickets...I didn't know there was a free option, that would explain the insane line that wrapped around three sides of the city block

Happy to report that the special is very good, the first 5-10 minutes especially really worked for me

I have a few different friends coming to visit over the next couple months so I decided to put together a Google doc of places to visit/eat/drink. I plan to use it for future visits along with checking out places I might not have been. It's currently a work in progress.

If anybody has more recommendations to add, please let me know!

Here's the Google doc for anybody interested: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1G7nIYloR5a6Aya7EqkdTndbvPbDvU2mtk2ryZktp-Lo/

Weird. Yeah when you search on google it keeps bringing you back to the old guide. Thought I already fixed that.

I mostly eat at cheap veg spots in the sgv but have heard good things about crossroads, gracias madre, little pine.

kitchen mouse is alright too

i cant believe i left you hanging my friend

i can get halfway and be super satisfied or i can eat 3/4 and want to pop. cant imagine eating the whole thing.

the sgv vegan spots are sick but im hardly out there.

I took my parents out to eat to gracias madre and they actually liked it. we are mexican and my mom is usually super picky about anyone elses cooking. first time i took her there she talked some shit on the mole lol. I like eating there but its so expensive.

havent been to kitchen mouse. i think im embarrassed to be seen with all the other white and carefree

I started writing out why I think kitchen mouse is lame for like the 300th time but why have I made this my life's work, you win kitchen mouse. your house made ketchup is terrible but everything else is fine and it's not any more expensive than any comparable place and fuck it. I could go for a snickerdoodle pancake.

Board has been super helpful in getting rid of stuff: if anyone wants a good clean window unit AC for 20 bucks or big space heater for $15 hmu. Weather is way too nice right now to get any buyers on craiglist but if any of you all want to prep for the summer this AC is super decent and costs ~$300 new.
