this band is approaching something soon like marc maron had a show w/ the wfmu guy recently, who said he relies on these albums to soothe his soul during the trump presidency also, i heard "toecutter" over the loud speaker at a fast food vegan place earlier yesterday

this year I think they played 2 or 3 sellout shows (australia) at a midsize venue that hosts big time indie acts whereas 10 years ago i was seeing them at scrappy sunday arvo shows in a pub with 30 people where they'd play 4 shows in the city presumably to make it worth their while and be punk rock I think the work ethic and fact stuff like ty segall and king gizzard has a devoted following of early 20s millennials means TOC are now like elder doodz of psychey dood garage rock

these two new songs are rad i dig the longform, freejazz sort of vibe of the first and could stand to hear a whole album of it

Henchlock reminds me of Sesame Street animation soundtracks of my childhood, which I’d assume were created from the mid 70s to early 80s Nice there's a third song on spotify

I came in here to post about how even though I genuinely love them, I just can't get into their recent stuff and then I listened to Henchlock

Two things: 1. New album rips hard. Snickersnee has this hint of Can in it that I really dig. 2. I guess the Grave Blockers EP showed up on Spotify, which I've never heard. Really dug it, though I'm a big fan of the more OCS/folky/Island Raiders stuff.VIDEO

I dug Coachwhips back in the day, but didn't really give Thee Oh Sees a chance until recently. Now, I'm full-on obsessed. And the depth of these guys' discography seems fun to obsess over.
