i'll definitely slightly overpay some scumbag flipper on Discogs for this because I don't have the energy to fight the hoards on RSD in person anymore
I've bought some records recently (Flaming Groovies Grease, Melvins/MC5 7") from discogs that turned out to be RSD ones but the prices were normal aka "non RSD" prices. And record shops have shit ton of RSD leftovers everywhere. Ya might get it cheaper.

It’s been interesting to see the late 2000s/2010s vinyl resurgence stuff start showing up in used bins. I always see a ton of old RSD stuff sitting around at my local shop, mostly for less than it retailed for originally. Pretty sure at least 2 different people traded in complete Animal Collective discographies in the last week or so because all of a sudden the bins are full of AnCo.

It's wild looking at discogs prices for stuff i bought in early 2000s. It's either no one gives a shit at all or they go for ~100
Anyone wanna buy my copy of Lord of The Rings Modulator by Forcefield?

i mean, i advertise all of my DJ nights as vinyl-only because that does bring people out/is a point of interest, especially when it comes to old soul/r&b (i also don't usually charge for my events)
but like, selling tickets when you're just gonna slap a single album on? very weird.

Lou Reed’s Ecstasy is an amazing record, worth picking up as a 2xLP for vinyl purists on RSD (I’m not among them.) Nothing else interests me but it’s a super good day for business, my local mom & pop joint really rakes it in with people buying $900 worth of swill in one pop.

How indie record stores do on business I think ultimately depends on how smart they are on ordering the right titles / quantities, since stores can't send back RSD stock.

it really is amazing to me how much stuff really does get depleted. there's always a few stragglers (45s don't seem to be a very hot commodity at my shop) but this dang day really brings out people looking for oddball shit.

official list is out, pretty much looks like the leaked one but i've found a couple that aren't on the leak, most notably:
Wipers - Alien Boy EP. this is nice cos the original is getting p pricey these days
Frank Black - s/t and Teenager of the Year. likewise, OGs are costly
Some kinda Devo box set

I was fortunate to get those Frank Black LPs before they got super expensive.
From both the US / UK lists, I'm potentially interested in getting: that Wipers 7", Twin Peaks S2, Lost in Translation OST, Ocampo + Ocampo + Watt 7", and Chapterhouse's Whirlpool. But not enough to stand in line or anything.
There are only eight releases from The Fall on the UK list, mostly concerts.
Fall, The Imperial Wax Solvent Cherry Red LP
Fall, The Astoria 1998 Let Them Eat Vinyl LP
Fall, The Frankfurt 1993 Let Them Eat Vinyl DLP
Fall, The New Orleans 1981 Let Them Eat Vinyl DLP
Fall, The Nijmegan 1999 Let Them Eat Vinyl LP
Fall, The Kings Lynn 1996 Let Them Eat Vinyl DLP
Fall, The Unutterable - Testa Rossa Monitor Mixes Let Them Eat Vinyl LP
Fall, The Medicine For The Masses - The Rough Trade Singles BMG 4 x 7" box set

tbf, when I see it here it and have been interested in going, it's usually to play something especially cool sonically/rare on an incredible system. i'd pay $5 for that.

Yeah, from the UK list. I've had some success getting prior UK-only RSD stuff (like the Cocteau Twins' Four-Calendar Cafe and Milk & Kisses) when UK stores put their leftovers up.

The Vines covering The Beatles is no longer exclusive to the RSD edition of Sounds from Guantanamo

The album contents are made up entirely of cover versions of songs by The Beatles, although it was originally intended to consist of the group's original recordings. When producers were unable to obtain the rights to the original tracks, they commissioned the artists featured on the album to record the versions released.

I got a haircut today and the barber shop is like 2 blocks away from a record store, so I went in there afterwards. Picked up the Prince cassette for my friend's wife and the Twin Peaks Season 2 and More LP for myself. There was like nobody in the shop at all.

The original run isn't rare, is it? Pretty sure I've come across it a dozen times in my life. Well if it is I'll sell you my copy for $45.

This is the first release of every single song and bit of score from the movie. It's three discs!
