not really suprised that if you didn't like last weeks episode, easily the best of the season, that you would be bored by this follow up. Not sure if Esmail thought that the two part finale would be aired together similar to the premier, but the episode was a lot of table setting for the finale/catching a breath from the past few eventful episodes (Dom particularity, stalling out the fates of those involved in the shootout last week).

This episode really comes down to the Angela/BD Wong stuff, if you didnt like it then you probably wont like where the show continues to head. I was tentative at first, but pretty relieved that at least it was Whiterose and not ECorp being out of character weird for the sake of it or another third party. Kind of got light Beyond the Black Rainbow vibes which i liked. However, I'm not sure I'm fond of the idea that Angela and Elliot are "special" or someone modified by the plant. I'm fine with Whiterose and Price knowing that Elliot was working towards 05/09 or even manipulating that for their advantage but really hope we are not gonna get some supernatural/modified mutant cybernetic changes being made to them when they were kids. Seems like some retconning that takes a lot of wind out of the sail of S1's struggle. Saying it was destiny or whatever is fine, we'll see how it plays out. Pretty sure its just stacking up mysteries and plots for S3 either way.

one of the biggest problems with this season has been the fact that Tyrell being still alive has been widely telegraphed as some sort of twist or reveal. Elliot is rightfully questioning his reality and Tyrell's existence within, but its gonna be revealed that Tyrell is alive and Mr. Robot saying he is dead was just a smokescreen to hide his activities/Phase two from Elliot.

In general, the show has really been transparent w needing to remove characters from situations to make the narrative interesting/not moving the overarching plots along too fast. The show suffered everytime Elliot was on screen in the first half of the season, and I'm not sure it was worth it even it made it easier to carry out the a compelling story with the other characters. Same goes for Tyrell, it was an interesting choice in the finale but the show clearly misses one of its more interesting characters.

iunno, second half has kept me on the edge of my seat, looking forward to the finale even thought it will likely answer little and add more questions again. Hopefully it next year doesnt spend half the time dealing with the fallout. Show badly needs an end date, maybe two more seasons or something for the story work towards at a more concise rate

very confused at how anyone can think this last episode was bad. if you didnt like it, i guess just bail on the show; its not for you. i wanted to live in this episode forever. Portia Doubleday is fucking amazing.

i dont even CARE about Tyrell. the "problem" with this show is that it feels it needs to introduce some kind of BIG TWIST x amount of times when it really doesnt at all.
wimbledon, strawberries, bubbles, please protect me. happy midsumma, hope you spend it in your heart, everyone is there. bitch.

as a guy who loves twin peaks and comparing things to twin peaks, the angela scenes were a little too twin peaksy for me but other than that fun ep

not sure why we needed meryl jr's sad 'her' homage but perhaps it will tie into ending

I think the worst part about this show is Portia's ponytail.

woah.

this would make sense though. Cisco's face was on the news, so the dark army would obviously know he's burned and take him out.

I'm starting to wonder if Darlene may have even told them where they'd be.

i thought that scene with Cisco getting that syringe shoved into his finger was them injecting a tracker

Season finale time

Strongly rooting against Tyrell and Elliott being the same person and any implanted memories in young Elliott and Angela

yes absolutely

re the ending sequence last night i was glad that they revealed the knowledge of elliot being the f society mastermind. it really bothered me when they went to the data facility where he installed the raspberry pis and found no fingerprints but didn't mention the surveillance cameras or anything like that despite dom being this 5-star perfect FBI agent. glad this got rectified.

agreed with sepinwall's review saying this would've worked better shown in one standalone double episode rather than breaking it out across two weeks.
