really enjoyed season 1, but the first ep of season 2 didn't quite grab me. should I give it another chance?

you can skip the first half of season 2 honestly without missing much
S2e06 is incredible (the Alf episode) and S2e11 has some Lynchian vibes

Yeah it was
Vera. I mis-remembered that he got killed and thought it signified that some time travel/alternate reality stuff had started, but nope, he survived that episode.
I'm still pretty convinced they're gonna get there eventually though, there have been just too many unsubtle moments of foreshadowing for it.Toggle Spoiler

Feech, I thought the same way. There's something about this show that makes me forget characters and seasons rather easily...struggled to remember who the fuck romero was...maybe I just watch too many shows.

had no idea who the dude at end was, S1 feels like a long time ago and he wasn’t even in it that much
kind of a silly ending unless there’s an angle i’m not thinking of. isn’t there enough going on?
also, did i miss why darlene was walking with the prostitute?

this is one thing i like about this show. characters presented as inconsequential are not always that (Santiago) or the other way around (like how Tyrell). not only does this make for exciting tv but it gives the story a lot of weight; everyone here is important and part of a bigger picture, which is still coming into focus.
great finale. very exciting in that special Mr. Robot way. most of this (otherwise demure) season was missing that but I think good things are to come.

now im not so sure about
time travel/alt. universes etc. i wonder if this show is going to end up incredibly dark and whiterose is in fact just a deranged person, like price suggested. im wondering if this obvious winking/nudge-nudge towards a "back to the future"-esque ending(?)/climax could be fake out and the world is a dark shit place and we can't undo our mistakes etc. altho Esmail seems to be an optimistic person and that comes through in the way he crafts this story and the major characters so idk. im here for the ride.Toggle Spoileralso ill say it again: this show has wonderful female characters. Grace Gummer and Portia Doubleday are seriously the MVPs of this show.

they were crossing the street together.

Esmail on future seasons:
In terms of the show's future beyond season four, there's currently no word, though Esmail himself has spoken about Mr. Robot in terms of a five-season arc. Speaking again with THR, he confirmed that an end to Elliot's journey is in sight.
"I've always said it's four or five seasons, and I've said that because I think it's somewhere in between," he told THR. "Whether that means the next two seasons are two short seasons, or it could technically still be two full 10-episode seasons, we're still kind of figuring that out. It's something the writers' room and I take very seriously. We never want to feel like we're treading water. Hopefully it fits into two more seasons, but we're trying to figure out that number."

After Price said WR is probably insane, I believe that all the time travel stuff will turn out to be bunk

I just finished this. I am not sure if I've ever been as let down by a show.
The first season was just so good, about as anti-capitalist as you're going to get in a show made by a 21st century conglomerate, with an interesting diverse cast and characters.
Then it turned into some combination of a reactionary apology for too-big-to-fail capitalism; psychological navel-gazing; conspiracy theory cliches; and ethno-stereotyping complete with Yellow Peril bad guys, no-nonsense Italian muscle, cool murderous black guy (but he likes Seinfeld!), and they're-all-the-same Muslims (for some reason Trenton's Iranian family has a Bengali name).
Lame.

could have done without the first half of this season. so dull. second half had some fun stuff though.
really should be ending this upcoming season, though. this is definitely overly stretching it out.

good, i'm glad. i love the show but it was clear at times that esmail was struggling to come up with subplots, and that many of those didn't really go anywhere or always have relevance to the main plotlines. there are still so many unanswered questions, and i hope that most of them end up getting answered rather than just dropped/forgotten. the wait is so long tho

Yeah I’m also glad this is ending. This show is p impossible even tho flawed but esmail always saw it as a 3 act film just stretched over several hours. Very happy to close the chapter on this story and see where it goes!!!! Smart to end it now.

Love this show aside from the first half of season 2 (which looked cool still, at least), but I agree this is a good thing. Excited for it.

Good
It seemed like a lot of people jumped off the bandwagon in Season 2, but Season 3 was a doozy, and an end date is good thing for the writers
Don't fuck this up Esmail

I hadn’t noticed that Sam Esmail has already had a cameo every season, so when he showed up so prominently I thought they were taking things in an extremely meta direction and I completely flipped my shit
still great episode though. love this show a lot
