Anyone else doing this?

This is the tenth time I have done this in ten years.

Something is seriously wrong with my life. You shouldn't move ten times in ten years.

Moving Saturday. Packing Friday/Saturday. Helps that I can just come back and grab stuff as I need it, as opposed to having to move all my shit out.

Yes. Stayed in the same awesome place for the past 3+ years with a couple guys. Moving in with my girlfriend to a smaller place five minutes down the road. Packing sucks. Buying kitchen/bathroom essentials sucks. Setting up shitty Comcast internet sucks. Growing up sucks.

Oh yeah, I have like a three hour window where I have to move all of my shit out and clean.

I'm only moving like six blocks away, and I only have books and a desk, but still.

I'm also like incredibly efficient at moving now.

I pack for like two weeks leading up to the moving day.

It's the cleaning that sucks the hardest.

Yes, I have to move my HP Stream 13 (Blue).

It will likely go in a box.

Which I means I help an average of four people move this time of year every year.

When you turn 18, you should get a house and that's your house. You're never allowed to move from your house.

The company we used to move were so terrible w/ customer service that they're refunding us a (small) portion of our bill, giving us the full value reimbursement on the claims we made for broken stuff despite us signing up for the free, 60-cents-on-the-dollar option, and sending us a gift card to somewhere or another so I'll stop posting negative stuff about them on FB and twitter.

I never felt more proud to be an adult than the day i hired movers and watched em haul out my entire place in thirty minutes. Money well spent.

I've moved every year for the past seven years (two of those times to completely different regions in the country). This time I'm moving in with.my dude ("boyfriend") and its been more of a transition than a move. Got most my stuff here, cleaned a bunch of stuff while he is out of town. Moving the final pieces this Saturday. We have part of a house that's been converted into two separate apartments. Huge backyard. High ceilings and big windows. Hardwood floors. $225/person per month :)

Oh I'm moving on Friday.

I hate moving so much. I have so much shit, this is ridiculous.

I mean, I have a piano, it's gonna cost like $200 to move the dumb thing.

One time I decided I would rather just destroy my desk with a hammer rather than move it.

I can't imagine what I would do with a piano.

Why would you ever own a piano?

Surely there's an app for piano now.

We've got a couch with a bed in it that we can't decide if we should move or if we should just buy a whole new couch. The bed inside is really nice but one of the screws on the side popped off so maybe we just leave it.

I helped my friend move last month, and he had a desk that wouldn't fit through his new halls so we sawed his desk into three pieces.

how do you tell the good moving companies from the bad ones?
i've only ever heard horror stories (moving company not showing up, moving company showing up super late, moving company pissing on your couch, etc.)

like this company looks like it will piss on your couch: http://www.wehaulmoving.net/
tgk, did you just go by reviews you read online, or was it word of mouth, or just pure luck?

I should have done this. Company I used was so so awful. Loved them taking 3 weeks and trashing everything in the process.
