The End of Summer - Loved...want to exist in this world forever
Gates of Heaven - Put this off for too long and it was as good as it's been described to me over the years
45 Years - Snooooooooore. Actually a perfect movie to fall asleep to over multiple sittings. Very soft.
Ivan's Childhood - What a debut...His vision seemed to be almost entirely realized from the start.
The Sacrifice - LOVED this. Such a mood...the last 20 minutes were masterful.
Blood Simple - Wow. Just wow. So damn sweaty.
8 1/2 - Not even sure what this was but it was absurd and I don't think I ever need to see it again.
Funny Games - Fuck. Definitely keeping an extra dozen eggs in the fridge at all times from here on out.

there's a rad pirate tv network called @moviepassed which is based in los angeles and screens blocks of programming ~5 or so days per week

ig: https://www.instagram.com/moviepassed
twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/moviepass

the filmmakers behind this short film called LA Roll curated this neat program the other week

Image

I obviously watched the ovarian psychos/12 o'clock boys double bill, but I am keen to check out all of these films about different forms of community. they all sound pretty tight

other pirate stations I can recommend are...

cinephobe = https://www.instagram.com/thecinephobe + http://www.cinephobe.tv
teen dream stream = https://www.instagram.com/teendreamstream + https://www.twitch.tv/teendreamstream/
quaran.tv = https://www.instagram.com/quaran.tv + https://www.twitch.tv/quarantv

I've enjoyed First Cow, I'm Thinking of Ending Things, Boys State, Palm Springs, Da 5 Bloods, Possessor, and The Invisible Man. And to a lesser extent, Class Action Park, I Used To Go here, She Dies Tomorrow, and Birds of Prey.

it's a really sweet and funny movie that nails the vibe of the originals perfectly. if you don't like the originals you probably won't like it tho. I genuinely loved it and I can feel an obsession growing.

for people who have attended online film festivals with geo-blocking (ie viewing access restricted to a single region), how have you gotten around this?

asking for um a friend

http://www.cinemaguild.com/theatrical/ghosttropic.html

This lists a bunch of virtual cinemas it's playing at, pick one in your country and you should be good to go.

It depends on the sophistication of the software they're using. You can use a VPN but some software will recognize that (I think Netflix has something like this) and I'm not sure of any workarounds myself

I have no real recollection of the originals and thought this was excellent, it's just about two dumb ol best buds cracking us all up.
