not sure on this Carl's JR thing either, are these employees who probably already hate working there going to cook them in a different part of the grill? Probably not, especially in the beginning, the thought of meat grease and pieces mixed in is pretty gross

Thought the same when I heard about White Castle but they supposedly have a dedicated grill.

Though I went with my veg friend to a local pizza place that does bar pies in pork fat pans (but doesn't advertise that fact). I won't tell him, but we won't go there again. I wouldn't have know this if I didn't live literally across the street and still see my former roommate.

Yeah this one is the exact thing and the one I used

hey, does anybody know if carl's jr has impossible burgers right now, or have they just announced they'll start carrying them soon?

i can't find a yes or no anywhere and the closest one is too far away to come away empty handed...

also, definitely not worried about how "vegan" they are considering they come from carl's. i'm just hoping it'll be good business and cause other chains to do the same...

i get vegan whopers all the time and never once worried about the beef fat i was almost certainly injesting— just happy that i can get a hot meal during a long drive.

Impossible Foods, maker of the plant-based vegan product that is designed to be indistinguishable from animal meat — both with how it tastes, and even how it bleeds — has updated its recipe for the first time since 2016, when the burgers first appeared. The company boasts that the “Impossible Burger 2.0” has as much iron and protein as a comparable serving of ground beef, while having zero cholesterol. Unlike the last iteration of Impossible Burger, the next generation is gluten free, as it is made from soy protein rather than the wheat protein in the previous recipe.

Although soy's perfectly fine, that myth that soy is full of estrogen is still alive and well amongst dumb people so that change may hurt the product.

my favourite local cheese brand is closing down to focus on 'other projects', I'm super bummed. look at this business:

and I learned the same folks who made it also own the local angry non-binary bar Sweaty Betty's, which is also a favourite crawl stop so I guess I can drunkenly plea the bartender there to bring the cheese back

i had an impossible burg (i think 1.0?) for the first time yesterday. (got it cooked medium well like the server recommended.) maybe it's because i haven't had a real burg in a long time, but i thought it was pretty good

i've only had one. and it was deep fried to the point that it was crispy on the outside. all i could taste was the oil it was cooked in— would have perfered an OG boca burger.

but i'm heading to carl's jr today cuz it's right by where i'm taking my car in for maintenance, so i'll report back.

yeah if an impossible burger is overcooked its horrible but if they cook it medium its perfect. the other day i was in whole foods and smelled cat food and turned around to see a stack of beyond burgers ready to go in the freezer :?

Last summer I bought the frozen beyond burgers at my grocery store to cook all summer long on the grill. There is a vast difference between grilling these things and on the grill opposed to the frying pan. I would totally recommend it that way. I think that is what they are designed for.

Friday’s has the beyond burger on their menu. I don’t eat there regularly but my kids drag me in there every so often. There’s very limited options for me so I usually go with that and just close my eyes to the fact of how they are actually preparing the best thing. Anyway, I always seem to enjoy it and never get any aftertaste for me if that’s what’s mentioned in this thread.

I have had White Castle’s (maybe just an East coast joint) Impossible veggie sliders. I haven’t had fast food in years and last month broke down and tried them. Damn what a guilty pleasure.
