Not that it was a perfect movie up until that point or anything, but man, this thing really does turn bad on an absolute dime.

Just saw this. Somehow simultaneously worse than I imagined it yet totally engrossing. Whole movie looks like it was shot for $100 over the course of a weekend. So much awful dialogue, weird edits, glaring script errors, and the promise of a huge, climactic battle atop a skyscraper that actually ends up being an awkward hooligan brawl in a parking lot because they never make it off the asylum.Toggle Spoiler What a weird fucking movie.

hey this is the second time you've said this to me unprovoked and I’m sure you're coming from some much more knowing ironic stance than I can comprehend but it's a really shitty thing to say to people and I'd like you to stop.

ending your "trilogy" only to reveal that its the origin for an entire universe is insane and if I talk about the specifics then its definitely spoiler territory so I won't
but holy shit I loved this

Night has major issues as a writer which I'm sure we all agree on, but as a director I honestly, truly believe he's incredible at shooting action/horror w/ budget (and actor availability since as far as I know Bruce was only available for like, a week at best) constraints. There's a scene during the climax with the "showdown" where two kidnapped women are in a van and the "action" is filmed from the women's perspsective and you just see the screen shaking and quick flahses of the fight and dents being put into the van and that to me is just awesome film-making

i have a long defense for most of this stuff but i dunno if i should spoiler tag or not

it is def absolutely crazy to conclude a trilogy with the twist that he concluded it with but it's so audacious and after multiple (i won't lie to you fam...i'm on 4 watches) viewings it really is foreshadowed, but I admit not enough, but he fucking WENT FOR IT, more than 6th Sense, more than Unbreakable, more than any other movie where he was like "fuck I need a twist" and to me it worked. I have issues with how it played out and could type "here is how I perfect this" but I hate youtube fucks who do that

this was an incredibly directed, questionably written movie...and we are all the better for having people like M. Night making movies like this.

Cancel me....but I will rise again, this I promise you

alright i gotta watch this

I watched Split and Glass last week, one night apart. Split is fun but i found Glass to be a very unsatisfying close. You can definitely tell he had very limited budget for it and he worked around it. Not that that's the issue with the film. Anyway both are really fun for McAvoy.

The smart move would've been to pitch that to Netflix as his LOST and he could've had four seasons worth of work.

i'm having this weird thing a lot these days where movies that i swear had trailers come out just pre-COVID (e.g. january/febuary 2020?) are now getting "new" trailers that i thought i already saw. but then this film was shot during COVID, so what the fuck? the clown prince of film indeed
