was planning to have a fun day of bouldering and drinking beer near home last week but it rained unexpectedly so we had to bail to the hard sport crag (Little River Canyon) and a wall where it stays dry basically all the time. Place is sick. Unfortunately the warm-up at this spot is 11a and I'm not a strong climber but the good news is that the 11a warm-up is an awesome route and close enough that I should be able to get back to it and try to send it at some point.
Bought this at the mall I'm gonna wear this at the mall.

sorry for losing track, are you not in nyc area anymore?
in my hometown in southeast PA for the spring and summer and an old, good friend of mine and I both independently got into sport climbing while I was away, been great reconnecting with him and planning trips together even if the weather hasn't been cooperating
I'm thinking about going to the new river gorge to help with their trail maintenance event in may to meet people and learn more about the crag, hopefully get some climbing in too
i was just going to suggest that maybe everybody should cool out maybe

That all sounds awesome! Climbing is the best!
Leaving for Moab tonight. Stoked for some sandstone even if California granite has turned me soft. Going to get so pumped! Haven't been on a rope for almost 6 months!
did some traversing today just to get back in the swing of things after not climbing for a few months because i messed my shoulder up, and i am hyped. probably still gonna get PT for my shoulder whenever i get my health insurance set up at my job.
saw a dude doing, like, solo aid trad climbing with the loops that you put your feet in. haven't seen anyone do that at that spot before.

ugh. Supposed to drive to the New tomorrow but I have to be back on Friday and thunderstorms are forecast for Thursday. I don't think I can justify an 8-hour drive for one day at the crag
Bought this at the mall I'm gonna wear this at the mall.
Yes, everything is right in the climbing world again!!!! Caldwell and Honnold absolutely smashing Gobright's Nose record. Prediction: with Reel Rock there in the Valley and a real chance for Honnold to put Gobright away for good, I bet they go for a few more laps in the next couple weeks and go sub 2 hours! Really enjoying this Honnold - Gobright rivalry. We need more real feuds in climbing that are not just privileged white guys being jerks (re Joe Kinder).
Went to the NRG and Miguel's for the first time, hoooo boy that was fun steepest climbing and biggest whips I've done outside gotta work on that ARC training though cause I get pumped way too quick
