We use the nutribullet for other stuff too but the two bladed one grinds them up pretty fine.. honestly don't get the incredulousness but gotta incredge something I guess

edit: I love to overshare so here's our nutribullet ground coffee:

A purpose built machine would make it finer but for our purposes it's great

i use a hario ceramic coffee grinder and it's fine but i feel like i'm spending a significant amount of my lifetime grinding coffee, so i'm thinking about getting an electric one

i still contend the grinding shit is the biggest nonsense in the coffee game

freshly ground coffee is probably the most important factor

and i say that as someone who drinks plenty of pre-ground stuff

i dont follow why you think this would be true. all the flavor compounds are delicate and begin to rapidly oxidize and decay once introduced to air (similar to wine). obviously if youre grinding stale beans its not going to make much of a difference, but youre definitely going to accelerate the process by grinding more than an hour or so before you intend on using them. theres lots of oils that will dry out once you pulverize it into a powder. also it goes without saying that different grinds suit different techniques better, so not sure why you wouldnt want to control that yourself.

do you even live in brooklyn???

I'm honestly not all that impressed by the coffee in Brooklyn there I said it

That said, I wasn't saying grind all your beans, the nonsense I was referring to was machine versus Burr by hand, etc. It doesn't matter that much

Burr grinder is the best upgrade you can get. The new cheap OXO is fine, and I like my Capresso.

any Toddy Boys in here? i went to re-up on filters and found these new giant filter bags:

https://www.amazon.com/Toddy-THMPF20-Fi ... filter+bag

just brewed first batch. great improvement to process. you can mix all the coffee and all the water together at once vs. the water/coffee/water/coffee/wait 5 mins/water layering. it brews slightly more efficiently and then you just toss the bag no mess of cleaning out brewing container.

worth it if you brew regularly. i try to do every sunday which gets me through the week. the concentrate actually makes a solid cup of hot coffee too. love a Toddy.

we used to do the toddy method for iced coffee at my coffee shop. it was a good method, iirc, you can also do it for tea.

My kids bought this for me and my wife for Christmas.
A rapid cold brew maker.
Image
Makes really tasty cold brew in 5 minutes (for weaker coffee) to 15 minutes (for concentrate).
Super thoughtful and really cool. We're enjoying the hell out of it.

my partner's parents just gave us a Capresso grinder as a present. been using a hario hand grinder for the last 4 years. pretty excited not to spend the first 5 minutes of every morning hand grinding my beans. :awful:

I haven't gotten any Parlor yet because I struggle with getting only 8 oz of it. I do get Ruby's monthly subscription and that's two 8 oz bags of different stuff though. I still have to supplement that with another bag of higher-end stuff and get a local roaster's light roast for the weekday morning first pot of coffee.

If y'all want a really good coffee subscription service, check out MistoBox. I had to review a ton of different services for my job last year (I know, what a drag) and it was easily my favorite of the bunch. Great selection and they do a great job of tailoring the choices to your taste if you don't want to choose for yourself. Prices are reasonable for the quality.

I think you can also get the first delivery for like $10 or $12 with a coupon, too.
