only thing to hate is the small bagels, the high prices and everyone else who is in there while you wait
overall it's good and a new york institution that i'd be much less embarrassed to set foot in than katz' or carnegie deli or i don't know what else in new york is on this level. i've never been inside junior's.

It's overpriced because it's juniors but the bar is a truly wonderful place to go have an afternoon of conversation with a dear friend tone sincere

i went on a tenement museum walking tour and they told me about russ & daughters. apparently russ wanted sons and only got daughters and was forced to name his shop russ & daughters. everyone made fun of him for it but his daughters were real helpful in running the shoppe and now they run it today or something. we got to try a bagel for free

you shouldn't feel embarrassed going to katz imo. the staff is friendly and the meats costs as much as good bbq, which I think is a fair comparison
russ & daughters is so amazing. I don't go on the weekends, but I've always found the reports of long waits to be overstated. I've never waited more than like 15 minutes
it's cool that they've both expanded in the past few years. I'm excited to check out the navy yard location

the good thing about katz's is you go in and say "i'll have what SHE's having" and everyone laughs and they clap and carry you around the restaurant on their shoulders
pull that shit at russ & daughters and they make you wait 2 hours to hear "you're at the wrong place, dickbag"

Better than just random ass names that seem completely untethered to the cuisine
Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to the single ramen shop in town, "krunkwich"
