There’s no way the Turok games have aged well

If they bundled 1 and 2 for $20, I’d consider it. They messed up by not fixing up Rage Wars and making it online compatible.

they have, actually

the first game less so but turok 2 is still fantastic. the third game is too and i'm hoping nightdive brings it to pc soon

if it's not common knowledge it's worth pointing out that many of the people who worked on turok and turok 2 went on to form retro studios and work on metroid prime. there's a lot of proto-metroid prime in turok and turok 2. turok 2 especially

Finally grabbed Dark Souls yesterday after accepting that I'm probably not going to finish Hollow Knight.

I beat the game playing entirely handheld, dunno why a pro-controller would be key for DS?

I played for a bit yesterday and have struggled with the controls a bit. For some reason I can't seem to keep in mind which button is the attack button. I don't like using the triggers to attack. But I'm also dumb about changing the configuration, so I guess I'll just keep at it until it sticks in my brain.

i didn't dig that at first, but the R/L triggers for R/L-hand weapon/shield just clicked at some point, and now hell i guess i love it (ps3 version but same principle, i assume)

After initial adjustment (making B accept and A go back in a menu is the opposite of every nintendo game ever) I found the controls to be pretty intuitive, so i'd say just stick with the original mapping.

i think they wer just trying to match the ps3 layout where X is often the GO button, so that corresponds to B on the nintendo stuff

dark souls is set up the way it is so you can block and attack while simultaneously controlling the third person camera. it's a good thing and you'll get used to it very quickly

that looks bad. The stuff you build doesn't even look cool. I got the vehicle kit for my kid and putting it together was extremely fun, just the steering wheel section had all kinds of cool levers and shit that used rubber band tension to spring back when you pulled it.
