Sounds like it was being put together by MS/rare if it was just gonna be an xbla port no? Being the least involved studio who declined doesn't tell me it places them as the front runners to bring it back. Knowing Nintendo they would just ask to use their already made perfect dark port lol

You guys are jumping the gun thinking Turok, which got steam ports in 2017, is signaling the arrival of N64 games when we're still waiting on 1st party snes games lol.

it was joint agreement to allow rare to do the xbla port while the original would hit the wii virtual console. nintendo pulled out at the last second. i'm not saying it's likely we'll ever see it just that i don't think the IP rights are holding it back at this point

there's also a MAR10 sale on march 10 - https://www.nintendo.com/games/sales-and-deals

can get mario party, odyssey, kart, tennis, or new super mario bros u for $40 digital at amazon, target, best buy, and walmart

just bought steamworld digs 1 and 2. i'm almost at the end of dig 1 and it's fun but relatively short and easy and feels like some old flash game i played.

Yeah dig 1 is very much an extended flash game's worth of content tbh. Worth a play for $3, wouldn't pay more than $5

Aces is the only switch game I've traded in. It loses its appeal pretty quickly

Hope you're using a pro controller

I beat the game playing entirely handheld, dunno why a pro-controller would be key for DS?

the joycon joysticks are absolute shit and really made it impossible for certain parts of the game (anor londo plank walking while getting shot at, sen's fortress, etc). Granted, my left joystick was worn the fuck out after BOTW but still. Pro controller made all the difference.

What makes Steamworld Dig 2 better than most Metrovanias (e.g. Hollow Knight or Guacamelee)?

Steamworld Dig 2 is nowhere as deep or challenging as Hollow Knight but it is a lot of fun

I sort of think that the devs benefited by being 3DS and Wii U developers and so were early on the switch so they did well with a smaller game pool. I wonder how they will make their games really stand out when they aren't one of the only third party games on the eshop

steamworld dig 2 is a lot of fun but while it's not necessarily a short game it does seem to abruptly end at some point that felt off.
Now exclusively in Bland Mode.

really hope the inevitable Steamworld Dig 3 starts you off with your full kit of abilities that you have at the end of 2 and builds from there
things felt really good when you're fully decked out but the game ends really shortly after

Looks interesting but was hoping for SWD3, more a fan of the Metroidvania type games.

this was my feeling exactly. I felt like pt 1 had a more satisfying ending.

Also this steamworld quest game looks like a turn-based version of Dragon's Crown

I've liked the steamworld games all enough where I am interested in seeing more, but I'm sort of tired of the Flash-style constant swaying movements

i'm enjoying steamworld dig 2 a lot more because of the platforming/puzzle elements. motherload is the flash game dig 1 reminded me of - https://www.miniclip.com/games/motherload/en/

after beating hollow knight, the digs are a bit anticlimactic, but they're fun and were worth it on sale. gonna play super mario bros u now. i've just been putting off a dark souls play through for months now... just wanna play some relaxing games
