I had some great beer at cellador back in 2017. I haven’t experienced the kind of fruit variety they offer anywhere else, even on site at ale apothecary, de garde, sante adarius, etc.

A lot of brewers seem to mainly stick to stone fruit and berries which while fine can be a bit predictable. Hard to get excited about a single berry sour.
perhaps at some point i was an energy vampire

It’s $9/12 oz bottle at my local dispensaries. Not certain if it’s worth it.

Is anybody hitting up any of the LA Beer Week events next week? I'm probably skipping the kickoff but I'll be hitting up the Herm tomorrow for their Cellarmaker tap takeover and I'll be at Sour Friends Fest next weekend. Not sure what else to check out.

The tap list for Sour Friends Fest looks fantastic and I have a feeling it'll be overlooked this year due to people avoiding it after some of Cellador's issues from the first fest.

Nice! How was the event? Love that spot.

Nelson, Baby is so good. For anyone who gets Alvarado Street distro, if you see it around you should grab a 4-pack. That and Double Mt. Nelson are easily my two favorite nelson hopped IPAs of the past few years.

it's no secret that Monkish makes a ton of very good hazies that all taste similar, but their recent "What Would Dion Do" TIPA was best-in-class outstanding

Did anyone go to omnipolloscope? It was almost an hour and a half wait for the first 150ml pour here. Ridiculous.

I remember when they opened they were supposed to be a spot where home brewers or people wanting to start their own brewery would be given a 'platform' to create their beers.

https://www.cleveland.com/drinks/2014/0 ... pen_d.html
The business plan

Platform is very much "home-brew inspired," said Benner, who has home-brewed for four years. It is a small-business incubator as much as it aims to be an anchor business in the neighborhood.

"Every 12 weeks, one individual goes through an application process and works as a brewer's apprentice, brewing with Shaun," said Benner, a 31-year-old Baldwin Wallace University graduate who studied business administration. "They work for minimum wage while shadowing Shaun. Many of the people are home brewers who never got a chance to brew commercially.

I'm not sure when thye pivoted but it was probably 2016 or so when they ramped up production and dropped that idea to focus on just churning as much shit out as possible. the head brewer who they hired on was really good and it all went downhill after he was fired. sucks though cause it was a good reason for me to head over to my old neighorhood in cleveland, guess i'll just go to great lakes.

I was gifted a bottle of 1996 cantillon Iris when I left my job last month. I think it's the first batch and it's my favorite of their beers. I've never had lambic that's older than maybe 5 years, I'm so excited to drink it.

My buddy opened a set of all four Armand'4 seasonals from 3 Fonteinen during the Fourth of July and they were all absolutely incredible. If you wanna open up a thousand dollars worth of booze on a whim, I shall not protest.

Stillwater seems like a weird inclusion. Pretty much everything I've had from them in the last 2 years has been contract brewed at that facility in CT which is fine, and I enjoy their sHelfies especially classique but damn I don't think they deserve a place next to Suarez lol.

Happy to see allagash and Sierra alongside all the cool dude Brewers, allagash especially

I was surprised to see trillium on there of all of them somehow. Looks like the list is from 2017 though so I guess that makes more sense.
