I associate recorders with 4th grade music recital/joke butt instruments but in that medieval context (which I realise now is their intended state) I gotta say, recorders shred

I'm also slightly buzzed but I assume people in the middle ages drank beer instead of water so they were probably slightly buzzed, if not shitfaced, most of the time recorders were being played too

holy shit abs I found your ig account completely organically separate from the board I think. I sent a screen shot of the post with your caption "offer a little prayer to the corn goddess tonight" to my gf last week and she absolutely loved it and we've referred to her as the corn goddess repeatedly since and will definitely continue to do so

A much bigger medieval account has “coincidentally” been reusing a lot of the images I’ve put up lately... bastards!

there's a rotating cast of buskers outside my nearest supermarket and they play in the evenings
it's winter here so it's kinda chilly (in Melbourne 9 degrees C, feels like 4 with windchill! ..is chilly)

anyhoo one of the guys plays a flute but in a medieval recorderish style rather than jazzy

and I was walking away from the supermarket the other night and feeling the brisk wind on my face and a part of me time travelled to an experiential comparative mental place where I'm sharing something with someone walking home from the inn in medieval times back to my shack or whatever and hearing the pipes in the distance, as people wander out of the inn all boozed up, part of their community, ready to turn in for the night

(and I thought of this thread)
