Gloomhaven "guildmaster" update (end of June update) made it a lot more like an actual game with a story/progression. been scratching a dungeoncrawler itch

still waiting for multiplayer, but I'm expecting it to be like real life where even if you have the game you may find yourself playing alone anyway

I think fable lost chapters remains a sort of charming action rpg.

I played Fable 1, liked it enough to beat eat as a complete good guy, then did a bunch of stuff to see what the bad guy looked like and shut it off and never played it/another Fable again

It's pretty cool. I'd try the game out if you ever get the chance. It's not hard to fly a plane, it's just hard to do every procedure properly. And there are tons of accessibility options in this one, from checklists for starting, prepping, take off etc, to glide paths and indicators shown as arrows and so on. If you've got GamePass it's free to check out (on PC for now, xbox later).

case of distrust was pretty good. 1920s detective game (basically visual novel). only a few hours long though, and I kinda wish there was more than one ending, but it wraps up pretty nicely

I just beat sekiro as my first from game and I think I want to play bloodborne. I know that they are quite different but does anyone have some ~philosophical~ advice so I don’t go through and start trying to sekiro my way through? Or rather if sekiro is built around the mechanics of deflection and posture, what would be the core mechanics that were of interest when they made bloodborne?

research stats and damage scaling and keep in mind that every weapon has minimum stat requirements

experiment with every weapon to suit your play style

you’ll be focusing much more on dodging than parrying though parrying is still extremely effective

write and rate lots of messages

the best way to get blood vials is by going in the chalice dungeons and spending the blood echoes on them

also, for bosses you want to focus on trying to dodge and counterattack and moving around and flanking them than on parrying them face to face

are you gonna play the campaign version of the official release, or did you already do everything in TTS?

i'm down for multiplayer campaign when it releases! so maybe we have 3 ppl for a board campaign, with room for another (plus or minus hop-ins, which i think is fine in Gloomhaven?)

there's a mob that drops 5 blood vials in the hunter's nightmare before the first boss of that area. This will make sense when you get there and it's one of the best places to farm blood vials should you need them.

What are some games with combat like shining force from old school Sega, (I guess final fantasy tactics did that also??) or Hero quest from mobile if anyone played that. Ideally PvP and not an rpg.

Looking for a needle In a haystack maybe...

Awesome. Bloodborne is the best game.

It’s pretty different in some ways - more dodging around enemies and especially with bosses trying to get behind them - but what it has in common with Sekiro is that constant aggression will always be to your benefit.
