Wish I had read more about those Konami collections before I picked them up, because they are not comprehensive at all. I’ll just consider them penance for all my years of pirating roms. Bomberman feels like they fixed a bunch of things that weren’t broken, but should be fun with a crowd. Killer Queen seems like it’ll be great, I just need more friends. Haven’t touched hyperlight drifter yet. Overall, instant regret with my haul :P

I've found the konami collections perfect for on-the-go-gaming
But there's no way I'd pick them up on xb1/ps4/pc

Playing and completing Final Fight with my daughter was fun, though I forgot how questionable some of the character designs are.

Also decided to fire up Breath of the Wild again after over 8 months of not touching it. Found the giant horse and the horse god with help from her.

Pretty good daughter bonding over the switch time.

yeah i just looked up those castlenavia collection today and was bummed it's not on physical

though

does anyone else find it particularly annoying to change cartridges on this? like way more than when i need to change a disc on my ps4 i'm like "ughhhh" when i realize i need to put a new game in. might invest in one of those multi-game cases like the club nintendo 3ds thing, or it looks like some etsy-ers make 3d-printed cartridge-slot-things that clip onto the switch dock (i mostly play docked fwiw)

Yep, it's a big reason why I just slapped a 128 gig SD card in there and just started downloading my games instead.

Yeah my kid is doing a playthrough of BOTW right now, it was a little too complex for him at 5 but he's almost 8 now and he's absolutely obsessed and has already discovered more than I did on my playthrough a couple years ago.

Taking the switch on vacation is one of the best things about the system.

not surprising at this point, but crosscode has been delayed until sometime next year: https://kotaku.com/the-console-ports-for-crosscode-one-of-last-year-s-exc-1840172122

i started working from home full time this fall & immediately gained 15 lbs, so Ring Fit Adventure is saving me right now. It's a better workout than you think it's going to be. Not really a substitute for going to the gym, but it's a great way to feel like a human being again after sitting in front of a computer all day.

I'm looking at it as a way to build the exercise habit so I can continue with other methods once the game inevitably gets boring
